national epic for Rome should be Aeneid.
In his most famous epic work, The Annales, Ennius covers Roman history from Aeneas to the Punic Wars. He created the first Roman national epic. He inspired the poet Virgil in writing the 'Aeneid'.
But to expand the repertoire of famous and important ancient stuff, I'll add it and give Etruscans Ennius und Romans Virgil. ;)
