Major Release Notes:
Installation Instructions:
The mod requires ALL major CKII DLC packs to properly function. It is designed to run on CKII ver 3.3.3 (SOHY) and I can't offer support for other builds. I do not believe the mod will function almost at all if you are missing certain DLC content, you can try that at your own peril? The model/unit Cosmetic DLC are not required, but the portrait packs ARE required to play the mod.
To Install, place the downloaded Pharaohsandconsuls05A folder into your appropriate My Documents/Paradox Interactive/mod/ folder. Please place the pharaohsandconsuls05A.mod file into this same folder and then Tick the “Pharaohs & Consuls 0.5A Public Alpha” on your CKII Launcher’s Mod list to Play.
Major Patch Implementations & Notes:
-Several Reworks and additions to the “Game-Over” and Succession Screens have been completed.
-Several fixes to and the addition of relevant historical trade routes have been implemented, although there is much more to be done here as well as further developing the regional resource system.
-Unique Portrait sets for the Pakytans, and Pakentynoi, Numidians and other North African Berber cultures added.
-Revamp of the Egyptians and the Armenian/Urartians portrait sets have also mostly been completed.
-Overhaul of the Lydian and other Anatolian cultures portraits and clothing sets.
-Corrected and added a bunch of missing localization names for Hellenic and Anatolian cities and fortresses.
-Added over a hundred minor characters and family members across several dynasties and expanded several already-present families such as the line of Sargon II, the Achaemenids and major Hellenic families.
-Fixed numerous death-date, character history and title history errors and incorrect dates.
-Added many states, rulers and characters from the start bookmark to the Formation of the Persian Empire.
-Hellenic-Persian Wars and later Peloponnesian Wars partially implemented and need further work on historic leaders and events. (Essentially a revamp of the Crusade mechanics and this should be triggered once the Hellenic city-states of the Anatolian coastline fall under a foreigner’s rule or after a certain year has passed..the 270s AVC if I recall correctly.
-Added several new artifacts, wearable crowns and equipment such as the Double Crown of Egypt and the crook and Flail, Royal Robes of the Achaemenid Court, Ring of Alexander the Great, and several more.
-Reworked Syria, Mesopotamia, and Anatolia landed titles so that the dejure area is more divided etc. Lots of puzzling issues to be resolved here with the later bookmarks divisions under the Diadochi etc
-Added dozens of custom dynasty COAs and updated several dozen title Flags throughout the bookmarks. (mainly Barbarian/Celtic regions and Mesopotia and Anatolia)
-Added several new holders to Northern India for the startup bookmark.
-Many characters & several hellenic, persian and anatolian dynasties have been added for the middle (Rise of Philip II and Alexander) timeline but have yet to be completely fleshed out.
-Updated the Main Menu appearance & modified menu viewing angles for a distnict look.
-added many historical tribes to their respective regions in South and Western Gaul, many more additions to be done here.
-Added Proper Council Stat Icon GFXs, and added/tweaked several character UI interface elements.
-Implemented new localization, fixed several errors in spelling and grammar.
Known Major Issues & Bugs:
- The Generic "Westerngfx" portraits continue to pop up at random and I have not been able to resolve this bug despite copious amounts of blood sacrifices to the Crusader Kings gods. The "work around" for this bug apparently is to save and then reload your game…this should ensure the proper appearance of the affected characters is restored.
- Hidden Faith UI/Small-sized Religion Icons UI is incomplete and can appear quite messy if secret faith societies are enabled.
-Random Nun/Monk outfits seem to appear on some hellenic characters and I am working to resolve this.
-Several modifier icons are incorrectly placed in the UI for when a province, title, or character is selected, fix is incoming.
-Invisible trait Icon for an unknown trait or two seems to be completely random and I am attempting to get to the bottom of it, I have been unable to ascertain if the 'invisible' trait has any effect or is completely a ui/cosmetic issue.
-Many localization and flavour elements are incomplete and will be worked on further.
-Several religions and cultures are currently in incorrect or inaccurate classifications, an overhaul of cultures and religion on a regional basis is required and is incomplete at this time.
-The constant notifications occurring for different rulers depending on culture or religion (and their respective landed vassals) informing them of a religious barony being revoked are still occuring and I have yet to find out the cause of this bug.
Other Notes:
>Please let me know if you encounter any major issues or unlisted bugs.
>A list of contributors and credits is provided on the associated news article for this 0.5A release on moddb.
>The mod is still in an alpha state with many features still to be added as well as historical bookmarks which need to be added, I hope you can enjoy the work done so far, if so, please let me know what you think!
Going Forward:
I'm releasing this WIP public build so that I'll have a stable and current CKII build of the mod available for others to try out. With CKIII coming out in a few days please keep in mind that I intend to try out CKII's newest sibling and will take a breather from the mod for a week or so pending my decision to port the project to CKIII.
I hope you enjoy the work I've completed so far and feel free to follow-up with me and other interested members on the discord server. Thanks for your interest!

Dzień dobry państwu.
Spotkała mnie dzisiaj duża nieprzyjemność, otóż - grałem w Crusader Kings 2, na modzie Faraonowie i Konsulowie. I chcę powiedzieć, że żałuję, że w ogóle tam zagrałem.
