Perfected Doom 3 was started as a simple tweak mod years ago. After realizing that I was still not happy with Doom 3 after making some alterations to weapons and enemy stats I continued to add more to the game. Now Perfected Doom 3 is more then just a tweak mod. It attempts to completely overhaul the entire game with new monsters, rebalanced weapons, rebalanced monster stats, better graphics, new gameplay features and much more. It has been met with great appreciation and acclaim by it's users. This mod will bring many improvements to standard Doom 3 and it's Resurrection of Evil expansion.
An addon that decreases ammo and armor from pickups in the Doom 3 campaign in order to provide a more tense and challenging experience.
Hardcore Perfected Doom 3 - please read!
One of the major problems with vanilla Doom 3 was how much dang ammo was just EVERYWHERE. This addon seeks to rectify that problem. All ammo collected from items and weapons has been greatly decreased, and
armor pickups have been moderately decreased. The Soul Cube's alternate fire modes have also been disabled in order to provide more of a challenge. Medkit levels have been left as-is, because this mod is
meant to be played on Nightmare mode, where there are no health packs, only health terminals. It may seem easy at first, but you had better stock up on all the ammo you can get. Once you hit Recycling Sector 2,
you will really start hurting for ammo! It goes without saying, but you will need to search high and low for those extra ammo caches, and be sure to hit all the ammo lockers. Save your berserk powerups for when
you really need them, such as the Mancubus section in Recycling Sector 2. Prepare yourself for a new challenge as you rely more on the chainsaw and your fists than ever before. Not compatible with Resurrection
of Evil (although Hardcore Resurrection of Evil may be coming in the near future).

WARNING: This addon is meant to be played on Nightmare mode and has only been tested on that difficulty level. It will work with other difficulty levels, but the medkit health amounts have been left alone, so
you may find it too easy. Also, it has not been balanced for the "In Hell" campaign, so play that one using the Hardcore In Hell addon. In the Doom 3 campaign, when you get to the custom hell levels after the
Shores of Hell (Last Hope, Tower of Babel, and Icon of Sin), you WILL need to be extra careful with your ammo, or you will not have enough to take down the Icon of Sin! Use your chainsaw as much as possible,
and take care with your aim. You also MUST either: a) save a berserk powerup to boost your damage during the Icon of Sin fight, or b) save a Soul Cube charge at the end of the Tower of Babel level so that you
can use it at the beginning of the Icon of Sin fight. If you do not do one of these two things, you will not be able to defeat the Icon of Sin! If you choose to go the Soul Cube route, you must also use the
Soul Cube once again after charging it from the Imps that throw fireballs at you from below during the Icon of Sin fight. If not enough Imps spawn for you to charge the Soul Cube, restart the level until you
get enough Imp spawns. If you use the Soul Cube twice (once from the charge left over from Tower of Babel, and once from the Imps in the Icon of Sin fight), you should have just enough ammo left to defeat the
Icon of Sin. You have been warned!
