Summary: Pathways Redux describes the events of a major nine-day crisis in 1994. In the twilight hours of May 7, 1994, eight Special Forces operatives were paradropped into the Yucatan Peninsula. Seven safely landed and carried the nuclear bomb into the pyramid. Hours later, they ran out of bullets. This project is based upon "Pathways Into Darkness" created by Bungie Studios. It is my hope that Pathways Redux sparks further interest in the original Bungie Studios effort. Pathways Redux is not endorsed by or affiliated with Bungie Studios in any capacity whatsoever. * * * As of November 1996, the locations in Washington, D.C. and the Yucatan Peninsula described in this project have been declared safe by the Center for Disease Control and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. None of the areas described are infective or dangerous.

Pathways Redux is finished and has been released.

Pathways Into Darkness was released by Bungie Software in August 1993. It was billed as "a new adventure game for the Macintosh". However unlike other 'adventure' games in the genre Pathways was also a 'first-person-perspective shooter'. Pathways attempted to bridged a gap between 'puzzle solving' and 'kill or be killed' game play. Now relive the experience in the new Doom 3 single player mod "Pathways Redux".

I know you are alerting others to the release of this excellent mod but you should mention the author at least - Brendon "Blender" Chung.

And a link to his site(as well as one straight to the download):

Sorry for the criticism, it just seems when posting news about other’s work it should be noted who is the author (Although from the news post in no way do you make any claims to be the author, it just could be misconstrued). Anyway, thanks for posting the news (and mirroring the download  )here so others can try out what is the best Doom 3 mod out so far (In my opinion-at least from what I’ve played).

I don't mean to cause any trouble, just a suggestion. ;)

Other than that Congrats to Blender on another great mod.

Awesome mod. Really really cool work with everything. Ran damn well too, especially in those impressive outdoor scenes. Only wish it would let you finish out the game instead of just telling you what happens. I wanted to meet Muller and shove my boot up his *** for those other soldiers! Or was Muller supposed to be that particularly cranky dude in that pond?

I think this is just a demo and Blender intends to re-make more of the original game. I love the start with the parachuting scene it's a classic. :D

And that 1994 PDA is great.

:D I remember the original Pathways into Darkness... the original texture-mapped Mac game I think ;)

I also played the Redux beta... it was kind of cool, except for the running by cacodemons part which was annoying ;)
