Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.
Keeper Harbinger sighted near the remains of the infamous Molten Ore Mining Operation! Fellow Turanics beware! This territory is no longer safe. Massed Hiigaran fleets have been sighted moving quickly to respond to the Keeper threat.
Reccomend you boys all keep your distance! Captain Morgan - Out.

Showing off the new Harbinger Defense fields. But not only is there a new FX: Shields now go on automatically when a ship takes too much damage too quickly. They stay on for 15 seconds and then require 15 seconds to recharge.
Due to the large ammount of micromanagement needed to play the new Keeper Race in 006, this change is designed to give you one less thing you have to keep watching out for.
awesome idea.
I second that. I'm wondering what the damage/time ratio is though. Will one Vaygr BC missile salvo trigger it, for instance? Or would it take a small fleet focusing on one ship to trigger it?
They trigger when a ship looses more than 3% health in three seconds. This can be anything - a huge swarm of bombers, a missile barrage - anything that does more than 3% damage before the game checks again will set off the shields.
So far I've found missiles, ion cannons and large superguns to trigger them most frequently while fighters and corvette weapons seldom do (even bombers).
Well, it's probably good that bombers don't trigger it... you must leave SOME sort of weakness to the ship.
Depends on how many bombers are shooting really. If 10 squads fire at once they will go on.
I've seen 30+ missiles and several pulse cannon shots go pling against these shields - and a return fire from the harbinger (powered up with 2 power gens + extermination runtimes) oneshotted the offending BC. So... it's all a bit of luck.
is it me, or is this longer than the origonal dreadnought model?
Just you - it's the same model with nothing different save textures and shields.
Oh - but it was taken on a wide resulution (1920x1200) and at an odd angle - not sure if that means anything though.
