Earth was taken in a matter of hours, and it started because of a glitch in the system that forced that damn portal open. It started with just twos, then threes, then horde after godforsaken horde would pour through, seemingly endless and totally relentless. After just minutes, the facility's security were either dead, or worse. The only place they hadn't reached was the control room, and I was glad for that. Looking beside me I noticed a pistol left by a security guard and took it. I decided to fight my way to the portal, I would have to shut it down manually since the controls were broken. As I made for the exit, I heard the hollow screams from the tortured souls of this unholy facility. My blood froze at the sound and I shakily stepped through the door and was greeted by death itself.

Oxygéne, Act 1

Oxygéne is a two part mod for DOOM II. To run the game, you must drag DOOM2.wad onto your DOOM port alongside this mod and run it in DOOM II. If you do want to leave some suggestions as to things we could add to this mod, please feel free to drop a comment, whether it's an improvement or generally just a monster or weapon we could add, don't be shy to give me suggestions. This WAD pampers you more for playing on the easier difficulties, and when played on harder difficulties, the suffering is endless and the waves of hell are unholy and unforgiving. We aim to create a mod that challenges the player and creates an entertaining environment, an intriguing, unspoken story and the most accurate representation of my own personal idea of Hell as we can within the already broken limitations of the idTech engine.

Dev Notes #3

News

Has it really been two years already since my last update? It feels like only a year to me and I can't believe how inactive I still am on this site. Despite the lack of updates from me, I've been doing work on the mod. Especially recently, I've done a lot of work. I've even gotten a couple of friends on board to help me! That way I don't have to worry so much about running out of ideas for maps and hopefully it won't seem too repetitive. Regardless, on to the Dev Notes!

Oxygéne, Act 1 - September 7th 2019

  • I have officially started working on my own music for this mod. Now, I am by no means at all a musician when it comes to instruments, although maybe I can sing. Regardless, I'm doing my best, I'm learning a lot and constantly trying to improve the music and make it sound more interesting. That being said, the music is just ambient.
  • Listened to A Day To Remember while modding.
  • We're currently in the process of converting the mod from a .WAD file to a .PK3 to help with mod compatability and organisation and such.
  • I'm still working on MAP04, but I've also been doing a lot of development on MAP02 and I intend on touching up some on MAP03 as well.
  • I'm working on trying to find a way to take DOOM2's text screens and have them play on the levels I want instead of on the levels set by iD.
  • Stopped for a cup of tea.
  • Added a little Easter Egg to the automap on some of the levels. They aren't exactly hidden, but they fit the theme of evil.
  • Touched up the set for the introductory cutscene to make it a little less boring.

Future Updates

  • Complete MAP04, make it long and much more puzzle-like
  • Add sound sequences that are triggered by certain actions, and that maybe go along with certain cutscenes

As it is now, this is all I can remember doing for the past 2 years, although I'm certain I did more.

If you need music for your mod maybe I can help.. I work. With caustic and atm make a remix of dead bunny in midi but I would also like to make some dark synth or house tracks... Maybe you can use one of these... If you are interested just tell me
