Hello Community!
The WorldCup found it's new owner, the sunburn is long gone, the bottle of beer empty, and we're already getting sick and tired of the barbecue steaks again. For us an obvious sign to go back into our rooms, close the sunblinds and to return to a life with the computer and OPK!
Ok, it hasn't become that bad yet, but our (unoffcial) summer vacation is (highly official) ended with this news.
"This is the end, my only friend, the end..."
Enough chit-chat, time to show you something. We're starting with a preview of a new helicopter. Some people say it's not only a helicopter, but the helicopter par excellence. It was one of the faces of the Vietnam war that went around the world, is in use as rescue- and supporthelicopter all around the world, and the dull sound of its rotors brings back memories of the movie classic Apocalypse Now. We're talking about nothing less than the Dornier UH-1D.
Nicknamed Huey this helicopter is a true legend in the sky. No matter if it's used as a simple transport helicopter, MedEvac, SAR (Search and Rescue) or gunship, there is little that the Huey can't do. The model of this legend was contributed by our fellow BGF-mate Badscull, who also made the MiG-21 and M80.
Bird of prey on the hunt
A true OPK creation however is the new partner of the Serbian MiG-21, the SOKO J22 Orao. The translation for Orao is eagle, and that's a really fitting name for this jet. Designed as a ground attack plane it's going to rain fear and death from above.
This joint venture of designers from Romania and the former Yugoslavia can be equipped with various bombs and air-to-ground missiles like the AGM65 Maverick. A two seated version is also produced, but the single seater is perfectly fitting for our needs.
I want more ...
Know that we're hard-working again we're already a step further than only the model. The textures for both aircrafts are already in a advanced stadium and can be viewed on our Developer's Diary. The only thing you need is an account on www.forum.opkmod.com,, and you can already see the progress of our work.
