Operation: Firestorm is an enhancement mod for C&C Generals: Zero Hour. This mod currently features 8 unique playable Generals each with a huge arsenal of new units, buildings and special powers ar their disposal. While the core gamplay stays the same, a number of interesting new gameplay mechanics are added. In addition the overall visual quality is greaty improved, including new models, textures, FX and an improved User-Interface, available in full-HD resolution.

Lets see - tiberian sun had drop pods infantry. Dawn of War had both drop pods and this exact design for them.

And 40k alone probably makes this thing older than a good chunk of what I'm starting to assume seems to be Contra's target audience.

A lot of people seem to be "reminded" of Contra rather often, from what I see of C&C mods despite the fact that, from what I've seen of it...there's nothing really all that...interesting about it.
At best, it mostly seems like a collection of stuff that would make your typical early teenager go "awsum!!11!!11111"

Yes, it works pretty similar to the drop pods in CnC3 or Contra
And they all look like they played some Games Workshop before making the thing.
Though, it more or less seems like the most reasonable design for a vehicle that is supposed to unload troops into what very well might be the middle of the enemy force.
Exactly. Drop pods in TibSun, CnC3, DoW, etc. are all pretty cool, so we wanted to add them and we liked this design (W40K inspired) best.
Well, folks just have a soft spot for flaming death from above ever since Heinlein brought the concept up. Can't blame them.

Similar to the paradrop ability, you're better off not to call this into the ocean, or cliffs, or a wall of defenses.
