Operation: Black Mesa is a total Source remake of Half Life: Opposing Force. Using the Source engine, the developers plan to recreate the Black Mesa research Facility as it was seen by Corporal Adrian Shephard of the H.E.C.U. Half-life: Opposing Force is still an amazing game, although it is not nearly as amazing as it was when it was released.

If it didn't look better, we would seriously consider shutting down entire project XD ;)

i would say that the orange tip (barrel) looks too low-poly - the HD pack's Gauss looked more round! other than that, excellent.

This is actually the viewmodel only, so the handle wont be able to be seen until the draw animation. There are also some problems on the texture when the model is seen from the front (like some shadows) due to overlapping uvs, that wont be seen on the final model.
I also made a worldmodel, that looks very similar to this.

So, it's powered by a couple of D-Cells. That's cool, I guess.
But where do the slugs go?

I think the gauss cannon in HL is more red orange than yellow orange. Anyway, who cares? At least it still orange.

I don't like how the front is so thin and the main gun is so fat. The original model had better proportions.. and I hope the models will have center-right viewmodel origins like in the original.. otherwise it will look even fatter and bad.
