Omfgzombieslol is a Half LIfe 2 Multiplayer COOP zombie mod where players band together to fight off genetically enhanced zombies with a range of new and improved abilities. Blockades and shelter are a huge role in survival aswell as teamwork and strategy. The zombie code is being reworked to make a much greater challenge for players and teams. Multiplayer is planned with 2 teams, humans and zombies. The zombie players will lead and control squads of zombies to destroy the humans, humans must simply survive or complete some sort of goal. This mod was started on 10-10-08 and I am trying to code this in less then 2 weeks, simply because L4D will most likely kill hl2 zombie mods, so why not try my hand at it before its too late >:D

omfg_outdoor_arena released!
So, today I have OFFICIAL released my first map. I have about twenty on my hard drive, but this is the first i have decided to release. Wanna know why? Because omfgzombieslol is an incredibly fun mod, except it has too few maps. I had to do a few trade-offs for this map to be completed. I took away my very well done displacements for the ground, so you wouldn't lose physics objects, which i might revert anyways, because the corpses would just disappear, similar in manner to how they do in Left 4 Dead.
So I'm putting this "news" out for people to ready, in an attempt to bring more people to this mod, that even before it finished, people were flaming saying it was pointless and that the author should do something more worthwhile. Regardless of your initial reaction to this mod you should still try it, for one reason. It's fun. After I have said all of this, I have one more plea before I go, Mappers, I beg you make a map or two for this mod, it's lacking in the number of maps that come with it (two) and even more so on third-party maps (one, mine).

don t know if anyone already said that, but could you improve the ammo you can carry for all weapons exept rpg increase, so u don t always need to buy new for pulse rifle and shotgun.

Cons: custom weapon content (add new guns) the ability to buy health and barricades. No need for custom models i have replac ements at hand :D great mod kind sir! now im not buying L4D :D awesome cakes is over 9000%!
Alrighty, I releasing my first map for this today.
It's called omfg_outdoor_arena, it has it's ups and downs.
Here's a list of things I (might) fic in the future.
-No countdown before Zombie onslaught. (They start when you go outside)
-Spawning sometimes leaves behind a spare HEV suit. (dunno why)
-The displacements are not solid for physics objects, making things such as grenades and barricade objects go through them. (if someone knows how to fix this, please pm me.)
-The attic has maybe a dozen resupply crates, but no way to get them.
-No suicide zombies.
-No place they can't find you if you have gone outside.
-No other places to go than the house and garage, even though there is a decently large lawn in front. (when/if I update it's going to have a bomb shelter, outhouse [no bathroom, lol], bedrooms, better lit, and hidden surprises.)
Other than that, it's good.
Sorry, I feel bad releasing a nearly completed map, but kwwp in mind that it IS unfinished, and it's my first.

I would like to see some ZM skins or something like that, because IMO the zombies from the Half-Life series aren't very scary, and are kind of silly looking.

I accidently posted this in the wrong spot, so I'm reposting it here.
Anyway, I have a few suggestions for improvements after testing the mod:
-The barricade system needs refinement. Most of the time I try nailing something down only to for the object to fall to the ground instead. This is very frustrating. Maybe replace the hammer with a modified gravity gun that welds things on the spot? It's not perfect, but I think it might work better.
-The buying system needs improvements, too. Some suggestions: allow players to sell weapons back at half price; allow players to purchase building supplies; allow players to buy ammo resupply crates for 1000 points or more.
-The "zombie ghosts!" clip sounds funny at first, but quickly becomes grating. It should be changed or only played once.
-Server hosts should have more options for hosting if they don't already. Things like how long the starting round lasts before zombies spawn in to how many points a player starts with. Hosts should even be able to define how much a player can carry; anywhere from carrying everything but the kitchen sink to limiting players to only *one* extra weapon besides the pistol and crowbar.
-Survivors should have more options to enhance gameplay. Players could carry a limited amount of supplies on their back for barricades, as an example. A player carrying supplies will holster their weapon while carrying them but can drop their supplies by unholstering their weapon.
-Players should be able to hand out supplies (ammo, weapons) either by dropping them, handing out points for other players or through a menu system, too.
The basic idea is great, but I would like to see some improvements. Zombie mods are always a good thing, too, especially for those of us who don't necessarily want to buy L4D. :)
