We're really busy working on the mod, but here is a quick little post before the timer ends for the 2011 MOTY voting. We'd like to let our fans know that the mod isn't going anywhere but forward. As the legacy of the mod shows, there is no stopping it. We thank you for sticking with it and we're going to keep expanding and adding new content. First off, there is an update coming for NMRiH. A new mode, a new map to go with it and a few other technical things.
In version 1.03 of NMRiH, we'll be introducing a new game mode! The mode is wave based much like Killing Floor in which players must fight off wave after wave of enemies. In our game, after a certain wave is completed a supply drop will take place allowing the players to restock on ammunition and other supplies. Vincent's map Flooded will be the premiere map for this game mode. Though it is the only map in this update, we have more in the works for future ones!
The longevity of NMRiH does not depend solely on the developers working on it. The bigger picture is you, the community. You may have noticed a new sub-forum on our official forums called "Official Fan Map Submission". This section will soon be open to community mappers who have created a level for NMRiH and wish to submit it for review. What will it be reviewed for? To become an official map! The team will play the map and decide if it is up to standards with what we are looking for in an official map and if it passes the test it will be included in future versions of the mod. Of course you can always post your mapping endeavors in our general Mapping section. Among other things, content is constantly in the works for the mod whether it be map props or weapons. Here is a shot of the newest melee addition Maxx cooked up:
To quote a bad actor "Yipee!"
Thanks for the that guys :D Also good luck and as always you got my vote for MOTY!
I hope you raise the damage of the melee weapons in the next update, they aren't really useful as they are now.
Also, I would like to ask you to add a perk system or a class system to the game, playing online is quite a pain as everyone runs to get guns, even if they don't have ammo, this is seriously awful. Just thought you might be interested in someone else's opinion.
Melee damage is being looked into; by the way have you been using the melee charge mechanic at all? (hold down mouse1 for roughly 3 to 5 seconds)
I can honestly say that I have used the melee charge and it helps a little, only a little though, melee damage is in need of a definite boost.
NO PERK OR CLASS SYSTEM. Really, there's kinda no need for it.
This inst Killing Floor...
We have no plans for a perk or class system, players are encouraged to play in a way that suits their personality.
"Dharma Initiative Survival Equipment?" Lol nice!
