The "New Horizons" mod for the 2003 Pirates of the Caribbean game by Akella is a continuation of the famous Build mod series. Developed as Pirates of the Caribbean Build 14, "New Horizons" continued where Build 13 left off, adding more new content than ever before.

Nice video, mate! Thanks for showcasing my work on the Dutchman's new special abilities. Now all that's left to be added is for the Dutchman to be able to sail into the wind, like they say she can in Dead Man's Chest. Should be easy enough now that we've got steamships.
From what I've heard and read about her, she's actually supposed to sail faster into the wind, then with it. Because the Pearl can outrun her WITH the wind, but not against it.
No ship can outrun the Dutchman against the wind, but even if the Dutchman could only sail 1 knot against the wind, that would still hold true since against the wind, the other ships will be going backwards. Not counting tacking of course.
The Flying Dutchman in the game has always sailed faster into the wind than with the wind. She generally did lose her speed when pointing exactly into the wind though, which I have today written some code to try to avoid. Might need some balancing though.
well that's kinda cool, will you do some more work with the tentacles?
like spawning them underwater and raise them instead or something? I don't really know the limitations of the engine soooo :P
Alas, this is the best I know how to make it. I know it's not perfect, but it does get the point across.
(The tentacles are code-wise floating goods like the ones that are left once a ship sinks).

Awesome work! i dont really want to sound like a critic but to make it more movie realistic, the dutchman should submerge and emerge more slowly, the kraken tentacles should emerge from the water and maybe move, i dont know if this is possible with the engine but anyway well done guys with the work done!
We can change the speed of emerging/submerging fairly easily. We've even got some particle and sound effects added now, which makes it look a lot better too.
The Kraken tentacles unfortunately are not so easily changed. This is the best I know how to make it. At least it gets the point across of being a Kraken attack; unfortunately we have to deal with game engine limitations here.

The new abilities will be available in the next release, Build 14 Beta 2, which will be out by the end of the year, hopefully.

That's up to Pieter, really. Before Christmas is most likely, so not long to wait!
Before the end of the year is the most specific I can be. We're still doing a lot of work and it will depend on how smoothly that all goes.

Sorry about that. The Dutchman doesn't have crew because we can only have one cursed crew on deck and the Black Pearl already has that.
Davy Jones appears briefly in the Hoist the Colors storyline. As of now, I don't believe there are any plans for a Davy Jones solo storyline.
Oh allright thats really shame,becose i really want to see Davy Jones in the game more then now,Or Black Beard whold bee nice as u have Queen Anne now.But anyway grate work guys,its the best mod i ever played soo far,and it will this this way!Cant wait for beta 2.
Oh one more question I tryed to buy Davy Jones skin at talor shop,but i cant i tryed a lot of times in evry talor shop but i cant find the skin.
And i have some error all the time like game go off evry 30 minutes and it says like (windows trying resolve the problem) or something like that.

I'm not sure you can actually buy it. I think the only way to play as Davy Jones is to manipulate the code. I can show you how to do that if you'd like.

Go into your main game folder. Open PROGRAM, then Console.C.
Find the line that says:

Then save, start your game, and hit F12 to turn into Davy Jones.

You have to buy them from Vanderdecken. He sells rare ships. But he's not easy to find.

In the Bartolomeu storyline you have to play through it until the quest itself brings you to Isla de Muerte.
