Neoforts is a capture the flag, fort building mod for the Half Life 2 Source engine. In Neoforts, players have 2 rounds, one for building, and one for fighting. In build round, players create bases to defend and attack the enemy. You weren't even near the first people to "create the first ARGG physgun that rotates in all 3 ways". It has been in Garry's Mod for a LONG time. Also, saying you created it in that sentence is lie, considering the fact that you didn't "create" it you just used Adnan's code. Garry's mod also has 4 teams now that I think about it... What a professional mod team you are, claiming to be first at things that you surely aren't and all.

Their website provides full and detailed credits to every person whose work has been used by them. Bashing the team just because every single news report from them isn't a full page essay explaining what other people's work has been used is silly at the very least when the official website of the project does the job so well that you can't miss it.

To my knowledge, knifa open sourced the original sourceforts code and allowed any team to use it so to me it seems that these guys have just as much right to be making Neoforts as the Sourceforts team have to making their own modification.

The fact it's four-team matches should make for quite a different experience as well.

Give it a spin before bashing them for all the wrong and silly reasons.

(anyone more knowledgeable about the open sourcing deal feel free to correct and enlighten me)

Neoforts not only claims to be the first 4 team half life 2 capture the flag mod.
Neoforts also claims to have the first 3 way rotational physgun.

The greatest sadness in this thread is that some *cough*stupid*cough* people disagree with these statements even though they are proven facts!

Does GMOD also have a physgun? Yes.
Does GMOD also have ARGG features? Yes.
Does GMOD allow players to rotate an object's YAW,and PITCH directly? Yes
Does GMOD allow players to rotate an object's YAW,PITCH, and ROLL directly? NO.

Neoforts is the only mod available that allows players to directly rotate an object's YAW, PITCH and ROLL.
Other mods only allow you to directly rotate an object's PITCH and YAW.

Those are the facts.

Actually, NeoForts is infact the first mod to have 4 teams at the same time okay? This feature was added months ago.
So please get yer facts right before you people start the sensless bashing.
Also, I do not understand why people dislike NeoForts so much. Are the SourceForts fan threatned about this mod or something?
Otherwise I do not understand what is wrong with a little healthy competition.

And I still fail to see how the physgun really differs from the one in Garry's Mod aside from the fact that all the objects move at a slower speed, and that the beam automatically snaps to the middle of the object when you grab something (which gets annoying, you should make the beam grab the object wherever it touches the object initialy)

You can only move a mouse along two axes anyway, so what good comes from a third dimension of rotation? Unless you are considering diagonal rotation a third dimension, which would be, for lack of a better word, stupid...

I will agree that they might have acctually ahd four teams before gmod, I was thinknig of release dates in terms of when 1.7 was released not the origional versions fo the mod. My aguments on the physgun still stand though.

I'm not a source forts fanboy by any means. Hell I haven't even played sourceforts since v1. I just think that the fact that the mod is, from what I can tell, a barely changed source forts mod is sort of un-exciting. From what I have seen the mod just looks like you took the sourceforts code, added two teams, copy pasted some code for the physgun, and re-skinned the old sourceforts models.

It seems you are also saying you have not played our game...

Until you play our game, and then compare it to the latest version of "sourceforts", you have no right to criticize us.

I still fail to see why you would want to play this mod when gmod has all of these things x10.

KmartSquirrel is right, this is a rip off of Sourceforts with the gmod physgun (ARGG) added to it.
