Morrowind Rebirth is a huge modification and will not work well with a lot of other mods, especially mods that make changes to the landscape or add new buildings.

Not compatible with:

  • Mods that alter the landscape in any way. Conflicting landscape edits will cause major issues where buildings or other static objects become submerged and can't be viewed or accessed as intended.
  • Mods that add new buildings, such as house mods. Same issue as above.
  • Mods that alter meshes such as trees and rocks. Morrowind Rebirth was built with a specific set of tree/rock meshes and will not work well with other tree/rock replacers.

Compatible with:

  • Mods that alter stats (value, weight, weapon speed etc) will conflict, but are not necessarily incompatible with MR. Adjust your loadorder if you want to use another balance mod (such as BTB's).
  • Mods that add new weapons/armor/creatures, but you need to use an external program like TESTool, Wyre Mash or TES3cmd to merge leveled lists.

  • Mods that add new features through scripting (especially using lua scripting).

  • Mods that replaces textures.
  • Mods that add new dialogue.

Known incompatibilities:

  • Morrowind Optimization Patch

Parts that don't conflict with Rebirth are already included, BUT Morrowind Optimization Patch updates are generally more frequent than Rebirth updates. Thus it might be worth installing a recent update on top of a Rebirth install. Just make sure you don't OVERWRITE any files.

  • Project Atlas

This mod can be used alongside Rebirth, but as with Morrowind Optimization Patch please don't OVERWRITE any files.

  • Poorly Placed Objects

This mod conflicts with the landscape changes in Rebirth.

  • Patch for Purists

Please use the "Morrowind Patch Project [For Rebirth]" included in the Rebirth download instead. It's a custom patch made specificly for Rebirth, including more fixes than the original patch and without any conflicting edits.

  • Widows Glow + addons

This mod conflicts with the landscape changes in Rebirth. I suggest you use "Glow in the Dahrk" for better compatibility.

  • Texture Fix

This mod onflicts with the landscape changes in Rebirth.

  • Delayed DB Attack V2

You don't need this mod due to the fact that Rebirth already delays Dark Brotherhood assassins.

  • Correct UV Rocks

Rebirth doesn't use original rocks, thus this is unecessary.

  • Better Meshes plus Optimization

Parts of this mod are already included in Rebirth.

  • Improved Meshes Optimized

Parts of this mod are already included in Rebirth.

  • Correct Meshes

Parts of this mod are already included in Rebirth.

  • Modpacks and guides like Morrowind Enhanced Overhaul and Morrowind Graphics Guide should not be used alongside Rebirth, unless you are a highly skilled modder.

Is Morrowind Rebirth compatible with openMW?
See Openmw.org if you didn't know already.
I can't get it to work and I'm suspecting MR dependency on the Morrowind Code Patch is the problem but it might be a mistake on my side aswell.
The error I'm getting is that I'm falling through the ground of interios that have not been added, but edited by MR such as the Census Office in Seyda Neen or the Warriors Guild in Balmora.

It is compatible. I know a few ppl including myself whom are using OpenMW.

The code patch is only needed because of some bump maps but openmw already have support for it.

Is there any problems with graphic herbalism, as I find that some plants still open as containers and some do not. And there seems to be less plants than I remember (from ten yours ago so may be missremembering).
Using TR + MGSO + MR + packguar + donkeys.

Some plants still open due to conflicting edits. Really nothing that can be done unless someone creates a patch.

Is there any way to download previous versions of the mod? I'd like to test those on the russian version of MW. 3.81 doesn't seem to work for me but 3.4 worked fine. Wonder if 3.5, 3.6 or 3.7 will do the trick.

You have to use the advanced search function on google. I've seen sites where you can download all previous updates.

Thanks for the advice. Already tried this, no success -( All the links I found within some outdated reviews of previous versions led me to this site's download section, so...

Looks promising at the first glance but this was one of the sites with outdated links I wrote about, actually. For example when I press the download button for v3.6 it gives me this link: Moddb.com
And the same with all the other versions, sadly. All lead here, right to the latest version.

Thanks for your help anyway! Guess I'll keep looking.

My game is GOTY + MGSO3.0 (with all included mods except 4 non compatible) with unofficial patch_v5 & updated MGXE + Rebirth 3.9. I have also all compatible mods mentioned above (except few), plus instaled and working: Antare's big mod 5.7(working), Rise oh H.Telvani (not played yet), Blood and Gore (working with rare chrashes, only with spark efect).

And I must say that game is apsolutly great. And after little mashes problems with, archers (their equipment), chain nifs, fur table and Vurt gl_trees&flora;, which i was able to fix, by placing new mashes if i could find them and deleteng rest, now is working withn no single problem, I am level 26 now, plus i played very slowly. Great Job.

Are there any more known compatible mods with MGSO and Rebirth? How abput Uvirith Legacy, or Children of morrowind?

BTW I think that Balmora could be better. Clean the main gate square and put those houses between balmora and temple. Also maybe it could be even bigger and with trees. I think that the leveling is too fast, and evry time almost all of multiplers are x2.x3,x4 sometimes and x5, but for almost evry skill. So at level 7 my strength was around 75, which is too fast, Now I'm giving always one point to luck and other to skills that have lowest multipliers.

But anyway this is really amazing work. We are never going to have new game even similar to this one. Oblivion, Skyrim and famous Witcher are kids staff...

Maybe you could add few players hideouts and housses that can be purchesed or quest related. Caiusus's house is dissaster, and guild houses comes too late.

Cities are now much better and much more alive, wilderness also, but only with wild animals. Roads are still ampty, it would be nice to see walkers, group trevelers, hunters, caravans, traders, Siltstriders carryng people, or boats on the see... Or military outposts on the crosssections near important objects, or military surveying roads or wilderness, more solders in the forttresses yards.

Sayda Neen, Balmora, Vivec(Dramatic), maybe and Pelagiad have realy new staff for exploring. All of the other cities are almost the same. Sadrith Mora and Caldera could be wonderful cities. And maybe some constructions sites, that will be built during the game. Also near evry city should be a few shacks and fields souranding, some other city could also have underground. Suran shoud be real city of erthly delights, not just one house and three naked girls. Or maybe few new cities... Or maybe just merged some landscapes mods to rebirth. All this things are great for immersion.

Also mostly compatible with Rebirth (played with 3.9/4.0):
Ancient Foes by Darkelfguy
Clear Your Name by Lucevar
Stormkiss Reforged by Gevalt and Enclavekiller
The Forgotten Legend - A Helm of Tohan overhaul by Team_CutieheartKagouti
Telvanni Cephalopod Armor by Danke and Cheydin (Guard edit works on new game but not on an old save, I think it's just a quirk of the mod itself)

Is morrowind rebirth compatible with morrowind crafting and the bare necessities?

Great job by the way :)

Probably not with crafting but should be with bare necessities. Beware of the latter though as I've heard it's not very performance friendly.

Sadrith Mora expanded is compatible with Rebirth. Seyda Neen house seems to be compatible as well, but it needs to be loaded before Rebirth.

Loving this mod, great job! Question: My only other mods are tamriel data/rebuilt and MGE. And, my Vurt's Trees keep disappearing. They are visible in the distance and revert to vanilla trees when I approach, the same with some rock textures (meshes?). I have re-run Distant Lands multiple times, turned off TD/TR and removed the associated BSAs from the ini file, and still the same results, no vurts trees except in the distance. Any ideas? I'd like to keep td/tr if possible

Would this be at all compatible with Morroblivion or uh, am I barking up the wrong tree? Before anyone shoots me and yells at me for Morroblivion, understand I had to work my way backwards in the series, I didn't know about Elder Scrolls until Skyrim. Then I played Oblivion, then I played Morrowind, I'd love to get into Morrowind but I'd like to use the Oblivion engine.

TL;DR: Is this at all compatible with Morroblivion? Like could I install this and it's dependencies as a base and then mod Morroblivion on top of that?

Morroblivion is a mod for Oblivion, whereas all the above mods are mods for morrowind, so they will never work together, as they are for seperate games.
