To all Command and Conquer Generals: Zero Hour fans, the waiting is over!
Since the first release of ModToaster in August-2005, a lot has changed. Many mods have been added and several bug-fix patches have been released.
Nevertheless there were still some problems and user-friendliness issues to solve.
Over the past few months we have gone underground during the construction of ModToaster-2! which will not only be a complete redo!, it will be more stable, and much more user friendly!
On top of that there is a collection of new features!
-Import/Export mod; People can now import a mod directly into modToaster. This allows for users/modders to create their own mod packages and customs. They can easily import them into modToaster which will then manage them properly.
-Complete new interface; ModToaster 2 has a complete new look along with a more user-friendly interface design!
-ModToaster 2 advanced cleaning system; which will clean your Zero Hour from dirty mod installations.
-Mod Manuals; Mods now also have the ability to add game manuals to their packages which people can then view through modToaster!
-New news system;Modtoaster 2 now also automatically checks for updates once in a while and a screen will popup with the latest news!
-Mod Banners; ModToaster 2 also features mod banners! Each mod will have its own banner which modToaster will download and show upon selection of that mod!
-Metrics system; A build-in metrics system so people and modders can now see on the site which mod is downloaded and played the most!
The reason we’ve gone underground for so long is because we wanted the most solid a program can get, and reduce as many bugs as possible.
We’ve spend countless weeks testing on various systems with a dedicated team to ensure the program’s stability!
We also wanted a program that would self-update and be fully compatible with previous modToaster 1 instalation!
Enough jabbering, the public release is scheduled Friday 10th of March!!
Be sure to drop us a message on our forums as we greatly appreciate feedback!
Cheers and hope to see you all on Friday!
