Mission Improbable is a singleplayer mod for Half-Life 2: Episode 2. In it, Gordon Freeman is tasked with re-activating a Resistance listening post. From there, things quickly escalate.
Before reading on, please click here so that you can start your download! It's been a long journey to finish this project. With the first map being made and released back in 2009 and the second map being released in 2010, it has taken another 2 years for the project to be completely wrapped up.
Initially I intended to just create the final map and do some script and minor graphical upgrades to the previous levels, but while having a beer with Rick one day he suggested that he could help me out with some art to make the levels even more awesome.
"It'll only take like 2 months" he said "we'll make some new rocks and stuff, it'll be easy!" That was back in December. From then until now we've done almost complete rebuilds of the old levels, replaced almost all Half-Life 2 content with original art, and created 2 new levels as well! We have around 300 new textures being used in the mod, along with 300 new models.
It's a great feeling to finally be able to release Mission Improbable. It has been a lot of late nights and long hours to get it done, and we sincerely hope you'll enjoy playing it. In case your download hasn't finished quite yet, then you can take a look at the launch trailer below.
The download is STILL not done? Then check out this videoreview that Valvetime.net did! They reviewed a pre-release version of the mod, and awarded it an A-!
By now I hope the download is done. Again, we hope you like it, now we will go get some well-deserved rest!
Mission Improbable is in the final stretch of development!
A week of great progress, and a preliminary release date!
The mod nears completion! A general update on the progress of the three maps and the new art.

Hi there,
first of all: Awesome work on this mod!!!
I had a few problems getting the mod work, because as stated in the readme I should turn the Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer Beta option to "incoming", but I didn't have that option. My first thought was that perhaps the Beta they refer to in the readme is no Beta anymore... Still it didn't work so finally I turned the Beta option to "upcoming" and it worked like a charm. Nothing else had to be done for me!
I hope that helps some of you,
have a nice day.
^This, was wondering why the game would close right after the intro. This solved that issue. I wonder why not setting the option to upcoming beta stops the game from playing.
Hey, I really like this mod. But I was wondering if you were thinking about trying to get this on the steam store?
Please help. I can't load the game. I have the little image with the sound at the beginning and then it's crash to desktop with the message "could not load library client". I have replaced the text in gamleinfo.txt and verified file integrity but nothing changes.
Hi! Just wanted to let you know that I will be releasing an update to the mod that fixes the loading error introduced in a Source engine update a while back. Until then, the workaround is to open up Gameinfo.txt found in the mod folder, and replace the text there with this:
Pastebin.com
Thanks to Icedwhisper for the workaround.
Hope you enjoy the mod!
I can't get this hall of fame mod to run now...loads to white screen then I get the "startup_loading.vtf is missing" error message. Is there a fix for this? Are you planning on patching this mod to run? Thanks, one of my favorites...
WHY CANT I GET PAST THE FIRST SCREEN?! IT SAYS "startup_loading.vtf is missing." WTF?!? WHY IS THIS IN EXISTENCE?! HOW CAN I FIX IT?! I JUST WANNA PLAY THE F***ING GAME!!!
