Colt Model 607 Carbine.
The reason behind manufacturing this Carbine was to provide a more modern gun than the M3 during the Vietnam War, a carbine with a taste of an Assault Rifle. The weapons is equipped with a telescoping butt-stock, the receiver and flash hider are from its parent the M-16. The weapon was issued to infantry platoon leaders, helicopter pilots, Military police, and others. The short barrel resulted in a significant loss of velocity which made the weapon not so practical for long range as the M-16. Nowadays, only a few units are still in service as special purpose weapons.

Colt-M607 it's the Commando
Commando refers to XM177. Model 607 was very short series called CAR-15 SMG (it's not SMG however since it fires intermediate 5.56x45mm round). It will be a rare, pretty unique weapon but we will also have more common XM-177 around :)
