MMH5.5 is an unofficial expansion pack for HOMM5 Tribes of the East or HOMM5 Complete and a spiritual successor to the popular WOG modification for HOMM3. The pack will include many new adventure objects, new larger battlefields, new heroes, new classes, new specializations, new skills, new artifacts, new adventure spells, new HD textures and a greatly improved RMG with more than 60 'visualized' Templates. The AI is much more intelligent and calculated much faster. Balance is also greatly improved both for small competitive multiplayer maps as well as crazy XXXL maps with countless epic battles vs Neutrals and AI.

I do not like the changes to Sylvan heroes on their classes, if you remove the Avenger skill other than the "Avenger" heroes, the building to select your enemy base on the skill is practically useless. I would suggest to allow 1 class to learn Inbue Ballista, the rest can still maintain the Avenger skill without it, otherwise the other classes just feel like a normal class heroes without much special skills for being Sylvan

while currently it is not possible to have avenger on more then one class it is also not desirable, it would be a burden on druids who need to spend their turns casting, and it requires unusual magic (dark+dest) for the perks to shine and you don't want sylvan to be a dark faction. also the building is tedious to use and an annoyance to many players. instead the building gives a small skill bonus to other classes, so it is still worth building

But i would love for Rangers to have the Avengers skill, I mostly play with the AI so my wish is for Rangers to have abit more firepower againts other might heroes.
As of now when i tested the r14 beta, its extremely hard to even fight with AI now as the might heroes are severely downsided imho.

not sure which fights you refer to, against neutrals early game avenger doesn't help, so the change to logistics should speed up the development of rangers compared to rc13

Any advice on how to get the patch 3.1 for ToE to work with Win 10? Always catastrophic failure. My old XP PC died and I was hoping to be able to still play a few of the older games on Win 10.

don't know why this happens, possibly the gog edition works better on win10 or has the patch out of the box, but i can't verify this.

Never managed to get the 3.1 patch but have played 3 custom maps and with the 64 bit version of this mod not crashes or obvious bugs so far. Thanks for bringing the game back to life!

Was hoping someone can help me with this - I've just bought the game which was already patched to 3.1. I then downloaded the Mod and copied the 4 files into the data folder. Started war of the world map as Klaus from Haven faction. However after building training grounds I can't use this feature despite the icon being there - clicking on it doesn't do anything. Also not able to use the towngate function for town portal.
Not sure if there is a bug or I've done something wrong? Please help!! really want to play this game again as heroes 5.5 seems like a whole new game!

not sure if you are running game from right exe file, is this gog edition or steam?, make sure to run mmh55.exe or mmh55_64.exe

Thank you I've fixed the issues (I applied the patch without installing heroes 5.5 first). Just want to let you know that you brought back a lot of good memories and enjoyment to me with heroes 5.5. I feel like I am playing heroes 3 again (but vastly improved - which I didn't think is possible!). I also noticed the sylvan theme music from heroes 3 was incorporated! Was wondering if you could put towers (my favourite faction theme music from heroes 3 in also for the next patch?
Anyway, Thanks again for making such a great mod to this game

Other issues:
Also when I was playing lucretia after about 1 month, I no longer get vampires to join the army at start of week...
Lastly, I can't enable the 8 skills options before the game starts. I can see the options but just can't 'tick' the box

Usually how it works is you hold left shift key, press and hold left key on the stack you want to split and drag to an empty square on the ATB.

I've got half (4/8) of the power of the dragon set equipped on my hero, but I didn't get the 2+ to primary skills. Is this a known bug?

bonus is applied after closing the inventory screen, you should also see a message 'set bonus applied'

Since the patch , im unable to generate custom maps , it starts to load than crashes on me , no matter which .exe im useing , i´ve the rc14_a beta installed. Sry if there is a FaQ or something for this , ontop of that many artefacts are blank and say "cant pick up artifact" or some error like that , i tried all the different exes , to no avail. try to create maps with utility.64bit or regular one , launching game with 64bit or 0 compability no change either. I guess i mustve broken something with installing rc14 because i had rc something from 2011 .... so maybe i need a clean full install , with just this current beta ?

just in case you didn't know AI has unlimited units + infinite mana on units. Having more then 1 AI make the game impossible due to constant waves of attacks with broken units.

Set everything to normal and enable casual.
Enable 3 AI and by week 3 they have full a tier 6 army.

Even if you win they just get a new one before the week is up.
when attacking normal mobs they lose no units, so they can freely grab all items around the map.

Pit fiend has around 40 mana so he could launch 2 fireballs. Yet he spammed slow for 15 turns straight so my huge stack of zombies could not move.

What setting have you set because for you to deny what's clearly happening is crazy.

I generated a map using the MM-55 utility.
so although i can upload the save i'm not sure where the map is saved.

well there are also human players who can kill normal mobs with very few losses, I'm not sure you are coming from heroes 3 but here AI is not the same where you can just kill 7 of them easily, in h55 1xAi is more like 1x mediocre human player, so can you beat 3 mediocre human players alone? This game is very complex it takes time to master.

hard i'd be like yeah cheats but they're clearly hacking on normal.

When i do the same i run out of money and resources.

It's like playing a fighting game where the ai input reads the hell out of you and makes it so the only way to win is to do specific cheese.

This mod feels exactly the same.... Unfortunate

I'm not sure you are playing a regular random map or a map where a human mapmaker gave a lot of extra goodies to AI players, but if you activate casual game mode the AI doesn't cheat and it never hacks anyway. So not being able to catch up is a lack in experience only. The customize town management tutorial on this site will guide you to a file that allows you to handicap the AI if it remains too hard.

Hi, mod is great, i very like changes which you made, game on random template with bots is very fun, i played on popular template from h3 Jebus. On H5 play style is complete different but i like it :)

I have just one problem: when i try to attack enemy necropoly town i get crush to desktop, i tried attack two different necropolies of one player and result was same.

Do you know what can i do with that problem? I have no other problem with game, i launch id with MMH55.exe, map jebus was created with MH55_utility.exe i read manual before i created map. I have no idea how to solve this problem, is that known bug?

Please be aware that even in casual and normal mode, AI will get some ressources and starting units, and improved xp. Fursthermore, even if AI don't cheat, the fight are "quick" combat where the AI only "evaluate" their loses. So even in those modes the game is VERY hard. This mod is made mainly for hardcore fans that already mastered the main strategies and exploits.

For some reason my keyboard doesn't register when playing the game. This makes it tedious starting up the game (waiting for all cutscenes!), and makes it next to impossible to play, since I can't dive troops. What gives?

Seems to me, the 8 skills are broken.
We tried 2 games, heroes above lvl 20 and no new primaries are offered, which should be normally the case?

if you play 8th skills on LAN make sure both players have enabled them. Make sure when you load save of a map that has been started with 8 skills to activate 8th skills every time too. The save does not keep information on the number of max skills used.

it is enabled by default. You can further tweak it by editing MMH55-Settings.pak. Changes work on newly created maps only. FYI -> Moddb.com

8 skills is not happening in multiplayer hot seat mode after you clicked it while configuring game

in Multiplayer game all participants must enable the feature otherwise it may corrupt the game. It should also be enabled by all every time you load that save. Do you play LAN or hotseat?
