Mideast Crisis 2] (MEC2) is a total conversion for 'Command and Conquer 3 - Tiberium Wars' set in the near future, letting you use modern technology (such as the Abrams, F-35 and Hind) alongside future technology (such as Drones, Airships and Medibots) in a conflict ranging from Jerusalem to Beirut.

A fantastic mod, while it's tech tree is not as expansive as original's and there's no campaign of any sorts, it's still a total conversion that manages to introduce an outstanding gameplay with professional quality visual and audio design.

Now, the gameplay! The old tiberium collection got replaced with a more close to Company of Heroes or Drawn of War point occupation, though you gotta maintain the unit in point and not just capture it here, which I guess is more dynamic, and infantry can also take over neutral vehicles and structures, with the oil storages being the most crucial ones as they expand your unit limit.

Factions are pretty diverse, with Israel's IDF standing out the most probably as they have the least structures and mostly depend on mobile deployments. Also they have drone blimps and nuke briefcases, so that's awesome. Other factions have interesting features too, such as UN gaining the ability to produce more supertanks that double as artilelry if other factions violate any treaties by using WMDs or terrorists. Oh and the Guardians are somewhat more generic but with no gimmicks but their abilities are super useful, allowing you to debuff enemy vehicles or unleash damage without any aircrafts enemies can intercept.

All in all it's pretty sad nothing developed further from this, this could use some extra content and bug patching as at the moment this mod is completely forgotten despite so much love being put in it.

Simple to learn, hard to master mod! Mideast crisis is a RTS mod featured less on structure and harvesting rush and more on taking, holding and attacking points, the fuel system is excellent as it reduce the chance you can rush mass tank force as easily as the vanilla game. Cash point and collecting recourses makes it harder for anybody to sit tight and wait for money to cash in, you basically have to fight your way into hostile areas, massive buildings garrison with infantry and constantly bombarded…
