Midage : Gmod is a RPG mod that features skills, quests and a dynamic world.
Midage : Gmod is the continuation of the Half-Life 1 mod, Midage. If you have Half-Life 1 why not try it? Link: Moddb.com
Raise the skills of your character to earn greater power in world of Midage! Better equipment and money! Explore the world of Midage and find where secrets are hidden.
This mod is a MMO. That means you're able to play with in the same world as many players. Featuring a login system and a connection to a database you can keep your character between all games.
MMO in Gmod?
Yes, it's possible! Servers have a max of 32 players (I think?) but if you link multiple servers together you can have a huge world. Featuring an intelligent redirection system that automatically redirects you to a server that is running the map where you character is.

More to come...
If you haven't noticed yet, me (JPiolho) and Mazur started JPMaz Studios, our own dev. company. (It's not official yet but it's on the way).
While we were picking up projects, "Midage : Gmod" was one of them. However, it will have to wait, we're making a couple projects before picking this up again. But well, good news huh? :)
We already have some plans up and I can't reveal much except that what you've seen here is nothing compared to what we have planned ;)
Meanwhile, check out our moddb profile or our webpage.
Sorry for not posting earlier, read the news for details
Check our new test map and the new models to sprites system. We also have a contest for the one that draws the best logo for Midage : Gmod. The winner...
We just released this video. It shows how your first impressions of Midage might be when you play it.

because its not out yet..
may i beta test please
Oh and make sure that getting into the game isn't a painfully slow and a long grinding session.
Like giving a skill a set of conditions in order to achieve that rank.
Mabinogi MMORPG has a skill base system where you need to meet the skill's requirement in order to get skill xp for that and only that skill.
Blacksmith - Craft # specific items for example.
I wonder how your gonna deal with the outside walls of the maps when playing this... Cause it isn't immersive once you see the floor disappearing into the sky... I suggest checkpoints or gates so you can interact and move to another location...
For the sake of this mod: Don't use a system where you have to pick up props with a gravity gun and need to position it to weld... It makes construction very very stressful if your trying to build while being online (cause anything could happen).
To substitute this, you could have a system that, when you activate it, creates a ghost version of that piece of prop, and you "weld" or nail it onto a surface, and comes in different functions to allow quicker work.
Say a Hammer tool has the option to spawn boards of woods at where you are looking, and using a GUI you can rotate it to that surface, then click to confirm and build. Although to make it fun, blacksmithing comes into carpentry skills when you need nails to nail the props in, as nails provides strength to the props when welded.
Greetings, Dra6o0n.
I think you're missing a point. We have said numerous time that this map is only a test map, thus we are -not- putting an effort in it, a test map serves it purpose : test stuff. Doesn't require any details.
Making a map of a good quality is a long process, especially for outdoor environments, when you can simply do a screenshot of a corridor when indoor related, it's easy. When you have a big part of the landscape to show, it's harder and has to be convicing (IE : not having an enormous hole in the middle).
About the grinding : Most people like grinding, and infact find it rewarding. We tested multiple time the skill grinding process for mining and woodcutting. It's a little long at level 1 but become easier once you gain a few levels in the concerned skill.
You might tell me : It's a mmorpg, not a grindfest gamemode. Somehow both are linked, how would you feel if you took the time you get your woodcutting at level 50 and go to cut some Oak Trees and find a level 1 go as fast as you ?
Concerning your second post, this is garry's mod and a rpg, not the sims.
A housing system would be very complicated and probably require a server itself, a gmod server can have from 0 to 200 different players in a day, but if you're a magician and find us a way to keep the server stable among the ton of props people will have in their house, I'm listening. (not giving the same house to multiple players because if it involves a system where the props are automatically respawned once he connects on the housing server could lead to a crash if another player being in the same house is connected with his own props inside).
Thanks.
This mod has no building involved. Did you see the videos? :)
Just because there weren't buildings involved doesn't mean there will be none...
Just find a way for players to host instances of their own "homes" on their server, using the main server as a pathway into it.
There will be issue regarding cheating etc. so maybe only players who work hard may attain one.
If something you think is impossible, then work around it. Not Give up on the first hint of problem.
Also, for a mmorpg, eventually players will need to communicate and trade, and eventually they will want personal shops.
A way for it to work is to have a marketplace map with premade stalls, where players can rent it for a number of days, and sell their products. When the time is up, the stall will then automatically transfer the money for each product sold for example.
There will need to be control on how much money a player can get though, because eventually it can lead to scams.
So for the default price of the product, you can only increase and decrease by 25% of the price range.
Example: 100 is the base number, 75 is the min, and 125 is the max.
I think in order for a lot of content to work, you'd need many many servers... XD
I'm not a magician, but my expectation nowadays are much higher because I'm a total gamer...
I agree with what you've said, but for the moment we are targeting on what we can do with what we have. it's itself only a beginning. So far we are not considering building and housing because we want something playable, but if in the future we manage to have more servers and thus more playable space, we'll consider it :)
on another hand, trading will be of course part of the game.
