Metal-Tech is coming, and now you can work on it by taking part of the "Metal-Tech Work Stages". If you are looking to work on a mod and show your habilities, this is your chance.

After be without give any news about G-n3tiK Productions and also without give any advances of the mod, we decide be back with the hard work for make of this one of the best highly developing Quake III Arena mods, and this time we want the help of anybody who want to participate on it.

Because one of the priorities of this mod is make it nice for the users, G-n3tiK will give the chance for anybody to give suggestions and even work on the developing of the mod, by telling us what they want on their Quake III Arena, what we should change, what we should remove from the Metal-Tech v2, show us your add-ons, textures, sounds, skins, maps, and everything as possible.

For this we designed an organized working routine for make the developing a little more organized. These will be named the "Metal-Tech Work Stages". The mod works will start with the in-game qualities (textures, models, all what you can see while you are playing) and finishing with things that are not in the main structure of the game, like new maps, new skins, and others.

The main work stages established until now are these:

Work Stage 1: "In-Game Improving, textures and add-ons works/compilations"
Metal-Tech has always been focused on create an HD Quake. So, the first work stage it will be focused on that.
The making of HD textures, most as possible. These goes for the map textures (walls, doors, symbols, and other similar), models textures (HD weapons, armors, portals and others), and effects textures (quad damage energy, teleporting effect, smoke, blood, and similar)
The compilation of add-ons, these are things that change the characteristics of the game in a more advanced level, like the Flags created by MikeMartin, the ones of the v2 of Metal-Tech who are also will be on the new release. These could be things like "new rockets/grenades models, a railgun effect than you see on a gameplay video", all those kind of things than you can found or have.
WARNING: These work stage does not contemplate weapon models or new player models/skins for keep a little bit the main looking of Quake.

Work Stage 2: "Menu working and other 2D works"
For improve Quake III as most as possible, we will also make an HD menu, with better buttons, frames, backgrounds and fonts.
Also includes some 2D textures than you can see while you are playing, mostly the HUD. These include better numbers, new crosshairs, icons and others.

Work Stage 3: "In-Game sounds improvement"
The sound effects are also considerate on this new version of Metal-Tech. For these we want to add new audio files for give a better experience while you are playing. These are things like environment sounds (wind, water, fire and other similar sounds), guns effects (firing, switch weapons, projectiles sounds) and other sounds like the one of the chat.

With these 3 stages, the main structure of Metal-Tech will be ready. These stages are also running for the Metal-Tech Team Arena version, a second file for those who play Quake III Team Arena. The other work stages are for optional files.

Work Stage 4: "HD Skins for each Quake III Arena model"
The new skins will also be on these new release, and now will be many more. One for each model and also with their own bots (these bots will be in base of the original Quake III bots).

Work Stage 5: "New Game Music"
Most of the Quake players don't use the music; however we will also add new music to the game. These will be a selection of Movie soundtracks (Like on the v2, the track on maps like dm17 is a soundtrack from Matrix), but also keeping the original concept of the main music, these new tracks will not be so different from the original score.

Work Stage 6: "Maps compilation"
Metal-Tech will also include new maps. These maps will not be the most played on multiplayer servers for not crush them (examples: Blood Run Tourney, Overkill, Spider Crossings, and others who are mostly played on multiplayer), so will be newest maps who are not massively played.

Work Stage 7: "New Icons"
This is completely new on Metal-Tech, and also completely out of the game. We will design icons for Quake III, so like for the most played mods (CPMA, Excessive Plus, DeFRaG, etc.)

All these Work Stages will be controlled on a forum topic, starting with the first one. When that stage is completed, it will be passed to the next one, until finish all the stages for give the last details. On these topics you will be able to participate on these stages by giving us your ideas, suggestions, works or participating on the Homework Assignments.

The Homework Assignments will be challenges than we will be giving for everybody who wants to work on the mod. These could be from find an add-on to create a texture. If someone completes these homework assignments, he will have all the credits from that work and even he can have the chance to test the mod before his release.

With these we expect have more backup, so we can finish the mod more quickly and also for make it better to all the users and gamers. We hope have a good response from all the Quakers, Modder's, designers and developers. G-n3tiK Productions will be proud to work with all these people.
