While we still battling with Gamestate Issues we have continued working on Meciless2 for Call of Duty2. We wanted to give you a little Update what’s in Store for ya. As you can see from the Screenshots below, Merciless2 will do what it does Best, brining you Lots of Violent Gameplay, Blood/Gore, New Effects and one Hell of a Ride!
As we said in the Previous Update, Firebombs and Gasgrenades are back, but Merciless Will also feature News Weapons like the Sticky Bomb which sticks at any Surface with a short fuse and a Big Bang killing everything near it! Panzerschreck/Panzerfaust and Mobile MGS like MG42 and Cal30 will also be available.
Here Some of the New Features:
- The Release Version will feature more then 100 Brand New Damage Skins
- 7 – 9 Damage Skins pro Model
- Firebombs now Explode now on Impact
- Damaged Based Bullet Holes by Mounted MGS and Mobile MGS
- New Burn Skins with smoldering after effects
- Dead bodies can be shot up for those who want to let it all out
- Blow up Dead Enemy Corpse with Grenades at your Leisure
- Blood Puke and Blood Spitting when Shot in the Upper Chest
- Modified Decap Shot with New Head Splatter Effects
- Powerful Artillery Attacks leaving nothing but Total disfigured Corpses
- And many other Features from Merciless UO

It's quite realistic.....Perhaps a few things, but lots of it is just Plain over the Top, no doubt about it, that’s the point, nothing new in Merciless, it has always been like that and a lot of people play it as it just add a hell of a lot more Mayhem, Chaos and Confusion on the Battlefield etc.. In regards to 'disgusting' ….Never heard that War is "Beautiful' :-)

Merciless has never been a Hardcore Realism Mod, nor tries to be one....It's around since the early days of COD1, remember Boys & Girls it's all about Gameplay....and @abershee, it’s Multiplay Mod Only, the list of Features is way to long as it includes all the stuff which has been incorporated since Merc 5 which is over 2 years Old….that stuff there is just about what’s newly added etc. Play it, then Judge it, It;s not out yet tho..
That´s a bit of too much violence for me. Some gibs and blood is always fun, but this narrows sick.
And if it´s about gameplay, I wonder what it adds to gameplay. Any serious gamer minimizes distracting effects like this anyways.
To me games are about entertainment.
If this was an anti-war statement of some sort - okay. But if it´s supposed to add to the fun, that´s tasteless imho.

I'm with abershee, except I don't really find it amusing. 1944 D-Day (further down the frontpage) have a better view on realism methinks.

Gratuitous gore and violence shouldn't sell games/mods, and infact, can be a detriment to it. I'm sure that's one of the reasons the Soldier of Fortune series hasn't seen another sequal, besides the fact that they were only slightly above average. (I must admit it was sort of amusing to cheat and kill people during cutscenes for the odd effects it would have on the game)

I remember Merciless from CoD1...but that was so long ago. I'm not sure about this but have you added more blood/gore? It seemed that the CoD1 version had less...
But anyway, its great to see this getting developed for CoD2!
