Merciless Mod 2 V3.4 Public Beta is out. Figured I'd give everyone a nice New Years present. Besides I had some time on my hands and did some cram seasons with beta testing/coding. I was unable to test as dedicated since my ISP is not opening up the ports or the router is too dumb to do it. Nevertheless, the mod runs fine in LAN and Listen modes.
It's far from the final release but it's a big jump forward from Merciless Mod 2 V3.3. The class based functions are far better and download size is a fraction of the heavily weight V3.3.
Change log would be too long to list. Just try the mod out against V3.3 and you'll see what I mean.
Gore mod is gone, however it's still got all the blood goodies.
Some stuff I'd like to do by the next release:
*Add the TNT back in and give to Snipers (V + A)
*More war effects
*New 3d models for ammobox, counterpart for six pack grenade, and maybe egghand grenade?
*Add in support for more gametypes and end of map vote. Example lts, lms, htf and ihtf.
*Anti-Camp, Unknown Solider renaming and other admin goodies.
*Stop players from dying when they switch classes.
Yes I had to make that thumbnail of those messed up bots, its a good laugh. But anyways the bots don't do it anymore.

Yeah sure. PM me your ideas for new revisions. I would add in new weapons and such. But if there is anything else such as higher recoil, more weapon sway, add in a single player map ect. Let me know.
I haven't played SP in a long time but would like to make a mod for it.

How do you add bots?

Number 5 being the number of bots you want. You'll need the mercbots iwd (from Merciless Mod 2 V3.3 Patched) to get the bots working as well.
Keep in mind these are dumb bots and not like meatbot. They will not follow or flank you. Later on I'll see if I can make those bots fight harder.
Released in updated for Merciless Mod 2 V3.3, a revised merc2ded.cfg so now it will display in Master Server list.
If there is still a demand for a "heavy weight" Merciless Mod 2 with full gore mod. I might have two Merciless Mod 2 branches, the current V3.4 being light weight branch and heavy weight branch being one with full gore mod.
Going to send Creative Bullets an update to Merciless Mod 2 V3.4 Beta soon. It will be server side with one client file added: ammobox and medkits in one iwd.
Total Download size for clients (Merciless client + ammobox/medkits) should around 50mb, yeah that's much less then the previous V3.3 at around 136mb.
Some highlights:
*All classes including Medic can plant landmine (V + V)
*Landmines go off on stairs
*Medics can drop Medkits (V + A)
*Medics can drop Medbags (V + M)
*Support can drop Ammobox (V + A)
*Support can rearm Ammo (V + M)
*Fixed merc2ded.cfg to get mod to display in Master Server List
*Added in voice stuff into merc2ded.cfg so Creative Bullets can beta test voice activation.
Some minor issues:
*You have to move and plant landmines since they have larger distance for setting off. This was to get mines to set off on stairs.
*Still got to fix some minor HUD Icon issues
*Russians on mp_harbor acting weird, gotta fix it before sending update.
*Call Medic and Call Support tracers on Compass not working, will fix next update
*Ammoboxes too small, going to convert new ammoboxes to CoD2 soon.
Client file is the same for now (Merciless Mod 2 V3.4 Beta 3). Later when I add in Warlord Class the client gets an update. Warlords will spawn with two primary weapons, one smoke, one landmine, and one TNT. The TNT will be planted correctly now that I know how to get the origins right.
Server is now updated to newer server side file. It runs as Rifles Only for now.
Updated Mod Profile to display Creative Bullets Merciless Mod 2 Test Server. it's a little buggy from gore mod removal, so if you hop on the server before Mid August be expected to find some issues. As stated in "Merciless Mod 2 Test Server" article.
Once Mid August comes most bugs will be fixed. I just don't want to partial update and leave some features half done.
The mod will become a public release later, no going to publicly release it until it's polished enough.
Bloodlust has retired from modding for now. Will call him Former Co-Developer. But will keep the door open, if he wants to return to the modding scene.
As disappointed as I am to see Bloodlust move on. This has forced me to become a better programmer and modder. Perhaps he did me a favor, now I got to sink or swim. I've done many revisions I though only a grand master like Bloodlust could do.
Updated profile page and changed title to reflect future releases. This profile isn't just for one version release. Therefore V3+ is better in title.
I plan to resume development in the coming months. Or perhaps just develop this as a side project (revise at slower pace) while continue development on Revolt Mod (CoD/UO). The revised Revolt Mod(s) are planned for 4 releases; CoD MP, CoD SP, UO MP, UO SP.
Later on I could make a revised Merciless Matador (SP), perhaps after Merciless Mod 2 v3.5 (two newer releases), and towards the end of the Revolt Mod revisions.
