The speed and range of a jet is substantial enough for it to act in a similar capacity, with greater accuracy.

Not really, you can see what it does in the picture.
I notice a an underground tunnel there, will that tunnel have the same purpose as the Tiberian Sun tunnels that transports units to another side of a map or is it just a background effect?
It works like in Tiberian Sun.
