Medieval Kingdoms: Total War is a total conversion of Total War: Attila with brings the game to the high middle ages, set in the starting year of 1212 AD going until 1453 AD. This mod will completely revamp the game with new factions, units and much much more! (Yes this is the same mod team as for the Rome 2 version.)

Post news Report RSS Announcement Regarding Download Links

Due to various reasons, we've taken down our download links(most of em). We are now workshop only.

Posted by on

Hey guys, Warman here.

So a real quick announcement. After much deliberation we have officially ended support for download links on moddb. If you want our mod, you have to get it off workshop. This page will still be updated of course, but the only download still being supported is the UI Sounds Pack. There's a bunch of reasons for this choice and I will list them out:

1. It's easier for us to use Steam Workshop's auto updater. Especially with the base and script packs, you have to do it manually on here and it involves more work on your end as well to manually redownload.

2. We don't want to enable pirates. Pirates who seem to like to use the moddb links to avoid interactions with the workshop. We do not condone this behavior in the slightest especially when it leads to...

3. We've been getting a lot of bug reports from people who clearly went with the moddb version and are getting issues long fixed on the workshop version. This is further exacerbated by the aforementioned pirates who have issues getting the mod to run on their pirated copy of Attila and come to us for help. We get that some people can't or won't spend the money on Attila for varying reasons but try to understand that when we get so many inaccurate bug reports it bogs us down. We value feedback on the open alpha, cause... it's an alpha. This kind of nonsense is extremely unhelpful.

Here is the Workshop Link: Steamcommunity.com

Like I said you will still be able to download the UI Sounds pack since that pack functions differently. But any other packs are either deleted or will be soon(moddb is weird.) I appreciate your understanding.

Regards,

Warman

Sure, there is nothing wrong selling a 5 years old game for 45 dolars that it gets much higher with DLCs while brand new RDR2 is 48 dolars!!! It is your mod and you could upload it anywhere you want but you have no right to act like this move is against pirates while total war prices are so ridiculously high and there are also ways to download workshop mods :))

For all the pirates out here openly replying in defense of themselves you're exactly why they took it down in the first place, they didn't even think of it at first until you idiots kept b*tching about bugs instead of solving it yourselves. Pathetic kids who doesn't have enough braincells to figure out things for themselves. STOP COMMENTING AND JUST ENJOY THE PREVIOUS VERSIONS YOU MORONS. This is why they stopped uploading here, because you idiots kept whining. You a-holes deserve it.

There's no more previous version tho, it's been purged. And please, don't go calling people names because they disliked this move, everyone has their opinions.

you do know that there are ways to make mods from workshop works on pirated games. I don't see the fruit of this move, only to lose traffic on the site.

"we dont condone piracy"
well taking it off here stops literally no one, if your a pirate, you are far more then willing to run a simple program to get a mod off the steam workshop, sorry if im not paying 45 bucks+more for DLC for a 5+ year old game especially with DLC that is priced just as unreasonably.

''We don't want to enable pirates'' said the white guy in his privilege who never lived in a 3rd world country getting 45 dolars at week, anyways using steamworkshopdownloader everyone still can have the mod :D

Bug report issue doesn't make sense at all. As other people mentioned this doesn't stop pirates one bit so you'll still get 'wrong' bug reports. And speaking of which can't you just separate your reports sources to know which one came from where or from which version of the mod people are using to judge how relevant it is for you? (like don't accept or read reports without users providing the version info of the mod they're using for example)

Made an account on ModDB just to tell you guys that I pirated the game and also downloaded this mod. People who pirate games and other things generally know how to circumvent most "anti pirate" schemes. Pirating will always be a thing, there will never not be a way to pirate something. Pirates are usually fairly intelligent, therefore they typically know how to get around. Quit making excuses for your buggy mod on "teH piRateS arE maKinG aRe buG rePorTinG haRdEr" and fix your issues properly.
