Medieval Kingdoms: Total War is a total conversion of Total War: Attila with brings the game to the high middle ages, set in the starting year of 1212 AD going until 1453 AD. This mod will completely revamp the game with new factions, units and much much more! (Yes this is the same mod team as for the Rome 2 version.)

No, it allways holds a book (the Bible), sometimes it also holds a sword and a opened book but this is considered a symbol of justice
The lion always holds a book, that is opened in peace times, and closed in war times, in which it often holds also a sword: the Venetians used in fact two flags, dependig on the period. The book is actually the gospel of Saint Mark.
I find the soldier amazing, my compliments to the modders, but actually the fact that the book is open on the shield is a bit wrong. Anyway, we can live with it.
