MechWarrior: Living Legends is a total conversion mod for Crysis Wars turned standalone, mixing BattleTech's combined-arms warfare and universe with BattleField's vast open maps and domination style gameplay.
Yep! Something that still needs done. Actually we already have the groundwork in at the moment (leaving behind dust and stuff), it's just a matter of getting to the point where we draw out footprints and put them in :)
Yeah the body of the mechs should move like a bird does by the way its structured anatomically, otherwise they'd tip over from lack of balanced weight distribution over the centre of gravity during movement. The inner cockpit can be kept centred from the movement by a gymbal while the outer shell of the cockpit moves along with the walking motion
the only thing i notice that bugs me a little is that the body of the mechs do not move at all when they walk. The legs just kind of wiggle underneath, the body doesn't sway and sink like it should with those legs supporting that weight. will this issue be addressed?
After seeing this video I have to say that the mod is excellent and I'm looking forward for its continuous development and/or improvement, all in its due time. However, the physics of those mechs are somewhat 'weak' (Example: there is a complete absence of physics in the mechs torso except turning and aiming, all exterior physics of course...) if you know what I mean. I, like most of the users, would like those improved as well... Fans are waiting to see a masterpiece, but even me being one I know that its useless waiting for a masterpiece... Not trying to spoil anyone's desires, and the work of the developers, but I can classify something as a masterpiece when I see one. Until then, the max I can give is an 'excellent', so I will definitely try this mod out.
Of course, if you guys can turn this into a masterpiece, the fans would really appreciate the mod to its fullest... Including myself, of course. ;P
This looks pretty insane, and I'll definately be downloading it, but the animations are a little juttery. Especially in the cockpit when you turn the torso, it'd definately make the game more engrossing if the movement was smoothed, although I do appreciate this is WIP, but still...
Oh... and there's no trails or indication of the jet-jumps? I'm used to the idea of that screenshot of the Elemental with massive flames and smoke trails :P That would be damn awesome.
I don't like the animations... they're too static. They mechs should be big lumbering machines, they're too stiff right now. I don't know how much you can do about that with the crysis engine, but that's just my 2 cents
still processing :(
Yeah, I don't expect much to come from this anymore.
And why is that?
ModDB seems to be unable to handle the file format. I'm working on getting another version, please be patient.
Looks SICK!!!
Cant wait!
this looks great :D way better then crysis itself lol :D
Are you planning somekind of trails or footprints ?
Awesome video !

OMFG
nice, but the movement animation from mechs is a bit to static...
yeah I agree, but that's the only bad part I can see atm.
agreed on both counts

I spy some new textures. 100% more eye candy.
AWESOME! Cant Wait!

This is still Work in Progress, they did a lot of amazing Stuff already.
Im pretty sure they are awary of that and will work on it ;D
P.s. Cant wait for Release^^
