If I might suggest some, I loved the tracks they added to the 'yaodu mod' of 'homeworld 2', alot of the tracks are done by 'two steps from hell', I bet some of 'em would definetly be befitting during combat in your 'mechcommander 2' mod.

Here is some titles I love and I think could be added in any comabt/mission situation:

'two steps from hell: norwegian pirate'
'two steps from hell: sky titans'
'two steps from hell: the truth unravels II'
'two steps from hell: heart of courage'/track has some vocals in it so maybe not that useful...
'two steps from hell: magika extended'/track has some vocals in it so maybe not that useful...
+ 2 of my favourites
'ace combat 5 the unsung war: The unsung war'/also vocals in here
'ace combat zero ost: zero'/also vocals in here

AiC, stop by Hard-light.net.

It's the main support site for MCO. I'm sure Magic can get you fixed but he doesn't look here regularly, but you'll get a quick answer and the hard-light forum.

In the meantime, have you used the Force Resolution checkbox? Start MCO, go to options, check Force Resolution, and then select your preferred res. Restart MCO, it should work.

Thanks for the suggestions. I posted my issue with screenshots with the site you linked me to. I also tried your suggestion, but unfortunately Forced Resolution sets my game into a 256 resolution where I cannot do anything. So I had to uninstall and reinstall for it to reset. If you want to take a look at yourself be my guest.

It seems that MCO just crashes as soon as I try to start it up. I'm trying to mess with the compatibility settings, but it keeps crashing. Any idea why this is happening?

Hi! Love the update! I have been playing around with the weather-slider in the map editor and it seems that no matter the value I put on Lightning I always get some lightning in my mission. I assume that putting the value to "0" will mean a zero percent chance of there being lightning, or am I wrong?

Hi again! Will you be implementing a "brain" that will enable you to have
vehicles "powered down" and then become active upon a misson being triggered? Like the "MoveTo-brain".

I made a campaign and would love to let others try it out if they like. I am checking the missions to see if it works with the newest Omnitech. would anyone be interested in trying it out if it does work? Its a approx 19 mission campaign (cant remember exact number.

Hello Mif200k,

I had the same issue, here's the solution from the creator:
"
Mech of the rebel leader will change to blue when you capture that turret control. It should be when it is captured or destroyed...
Will change the mission.

Please go to data/missions folder and open mw2_n_7.abl file.
Find the code segment and replace with this one

Quote

if (LopCCC) then
if ((objectSide(43787) == 500) OR isdead(43787)) then
objectchangesides(RebelLeader, 0);
LopCCC = False;
endif;
endif;

This will help you finish mw2 campaign.
"

Have you installed VC++ redist.?
You can find it in REDIST folder under MCO installation folder.

In the MechWarrior 2 Mercenaries campaign, how do I get the friendly units to follow me to the extraction point?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

Nevermind, the mission is just set up to be stupidly hard. After I figured out how to get other friendly units moving, I failed the mission twice in a row, basically because I couldn't get there in time. First, I have to stick close to the Catapult for the proper triggers to take place. However, if I stick too closely to the Catapult and don't move forward of it, one of the vehicles I have to escort gets ganked and I lose. The second time I tried this, I was trying to get ahead of the Catapult, so I could step in and help my guys at Objective 3, and one of my guys got ganked, and I lost the mission, anyway. This is a ****-poor way, and unrealistic, to design missions. First, there was only supposed to be one pilot to rescue, and then two pirates remaining. I could see a few vehicles, perhaps even infantry, being placed in there, but then you have another friendly 'Mech in there, which goes against the story. The friendly pilot, by themselves, would shut down their 'Mech and remain hidden, everything powering up ONLY once our 'Mechs and vehicles arrive to rescue them and, perhaps, to recover the other 'Mech we lost, for salvage.

That's alright, the first mission here didn't match, completely, the first match from Mercs, either. Improvisation can be good, but too much improvisation, especially so early in the game, can be bad. And I was just getting ready to recommend this Campaign to my friends.

I think I'll try to d/l and play the original Carver V campaign. At least those were made with common sense in mind.

I know you're doing this on your off-time, and it's a labor of love, but in this particular instance, the labor should be dead on to the original story, at least in the first few missions.

Thank you for playing. I never had any complaints about this mission before.

You dont have to stick to Cat, just run to those allied mechs from the start. After you kill vehicles attacking from the north, they should start moving to extraction point.

Its very difficult to make good MC mission from MW missions.
Plus, in original, this mission was much easier. My play testers complained about that mission being too easy. I made it a little tense, because you have to run from the start, but not impossible.
And there is always time to change difficulty level to green.

Sorry about that, I forgot to log in prior to commenting...

I will try this, again, as I have it still in my available campaigns. However, with this being so early in the game, it's not supposed to be that difficult. All of the MechWarrior and MechCommander games were built to train you, the player, prior to really getting into the game, and this really should be no different, I would think.

Still, as far as I've been able to tell, this is a good campaign, a lot of time spent on your part to put it together, so thank you.

I dont know about "unlimited drop weight" cheat for the original?

In MCO when you start a campaign, save the game.
Go to:
"MechCommanderOmnitech\data\savegame"
folder.

Open your save game file with notepad and look for:
l CBills = 31617

31617 here is the amount of money you have. you should have a different number. Add a few zeroes to the end, save and you can have unlimited drop weight.

Go to mechbay screen and add drop weight as much as you like.
