From the maker of Abduction comes the tale of Robert Graham, a man who inherits an impressive mansion from his distant uncle. Upon arriving, however, it becomes clear that his uncle was no ordinary man. There are dark secrets within the walls of Robert's new home. Will you survive long enough to find them?
Hey guys.
The mod is coming along decently, though I have hit a snag. My level design skills are failing me, as I have hit a spot of "modder's block." I have the story planned, and many areas that I know I would like to do, but I need to link them to make things make sense. The problem is, I don't want to make it too big, or just have filler areas in it.
The biggest reason for saying this is, as always, to keep people updated on how things are going. I am going to take a small break from working on it, maybe a week or so, and hopefully ideas will come to me more effectively. Obviously if I have an idea during this hiatus, I will either write it down or just go ahead and build it.
My main concern is the length of the mod. As it stands, it will just be too long. I really don't want to recycle environments, but I don't want to force the story to suffer from making it too short to tell it. Options would be altering the story or pressing onward and having an exceptionally long mod, or to shorten it to a reasonable length and try to cram the story in, which is not something I want to do.
With the release of other exceptional custom stories (looking from an atmospheric viewpoint) such as Followed By Death Ch. 2, I am also looking back at my maps and noticing that I still have much work to do to create the atmosphere I want in them. So, that is also something that will be somewhat time consuming, and potentially difficult.
Anyway, those are the things going through my head right now, hopefully you will all understand my reasoning for the hiatus. Again, it won't be long, maybe a week or so.

Anxt is this mod dead?
It's been 3 years since this mod was developed, and there is no update after all
Hey Anxt, is this dead, right?
How's it going?
Is this dead or no? Or are you still in Modders Block?
I know, it has been a long time since my last update.
I am starting back at school in a few weeks, and combined with work and other things, I just don't know that I'll have time to finish it. Plus, my voice actors never got back to me (except 1), so even if I completed it somehow, I would still need more voice actors. I suppose I could just do without, but honestly I don't think the story would be the same.
I'll update when I know for sure what my plans are. I think I may scrap this one and start on something a bit simpler though, if I find the time.
If you ever do get back to it, I'd be happy to voice act for you. I did some work as an understudy for Guillaume in A Coward's Debt (you can see my name in the credits) and Damascus can vouch for me himself. He sent me the lines and I got them back to him within a day
I think you should just do what you feels right Anxt. If that means this is going to be an exceptionally long mod, then so be it. Personally, I think if the story is good enough, then I don't care one bit how long the game takes. I mean look at the internet comic HomeStuck. It has taken Andrew Hussie almost 5 years of storywriting and time in MS Paint and he still isn't even close to done with that story; and I have been reading it since year 2, patiently awaiting updates. Point of this is, if the story is strong enough people won't care if you reuse a couple of map sections or how long the story takes to complete; they'll be having too much fun following the story to care how long it takes and too engrossed to notice a few copied rooms here and there.
