Report RSS Developer Diaries #2 - Cinematic Design

Are you prepared to play at Mass Effect Reborn ? This article introduces the advanced light design we've created to add this cinematic feel for ME:R.

We're proud to introduce you this brand new form of news concerning our mods. The second developer diary will introduce you to some features we've created for Mass Effect Reborn.

Advanced Light System
We've been working on our own Shader system for ages. Now, it's finally done but we guess you noticed it with the pictures isn't it ? I personally think we have to present this system to you in order to give you proof of its existence.

Our shader system relies on an extensive script that enhance each glowing parts of each vessel. To do it, we had to enhance our textures as well, with parallax shaders nor it won't work at all. But why create a such system? Well, the only reason is that we wanted to create the best mass effect feeling for our mod. Regarding all mass effect 3 cinematic, it was really ambitious.
But, we finally did it for the first release. Of course, we weren't able to reproduce the same effect but i guess, for the first release, this is what everyone here was expecting from us. We plan to enhance this effect to its best for the upcoming patches.

QA/Testing phase
We've been working with our QA/Testers to find all bugs from our mod. We're excited about the public release because every fan who has received an pre-release access is loving our mod, even if there is some little bugs. Therefore, we plan to remove all of them because we know how to solve them. Anyway the first problem for our mod was, because we decided to create big ships for the realism, the camera. In fact, the zoom wasn't that good, if you know what I mean. Now it's finally done and the later allows you to create unique screenshots.

The release date
Well, you may know that the release date is set after Christmas. For those who didn't read the article about it, here you go. We plan to release our soundtrack before the final release. Therefore, you will have at least a present from Phoenix Interactive. for Christmas. Santa's coming !

We plan as well to release a video, not about our mods but about you. We plan in fact to wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year from every member of our team at Phoenix Interactive. Stay tuned for the video everyone :p
For the upcoming days, we plan to publish, mostly each day, a developer diary for everyone. We know that mostly every fan like this system.

The trailer for Mass Effect will be released soon!

Ok everyone,
That was Erayser,

Seriously guys, don't worry because your effect is exactly the same as the cinematics. Of course, there is some changes but i'm sure you will enhance it again and again as its best. Awesome article anyway ;)
