Ah, the ship that really tells you how much they tried to give you the same old Mass Effect but completely miss all the good parts of it.

Hm you could always take the approach of Star Trek Armada 3 mod.
Creating some sort of communication hub that allows you to call in for reinforcements. Those reinforcements will consist of ships you can't build normally. That way he may get his Berlin class (a good looking ship).
But that's something to consider once the main mod is complete. :)
