Malice is a total conversion for Quake, set in the 23rd century in the year 2230, the player assumes the role of a bandana wearing mercenary named Damage. Working for Colonel Bossman and his underground crime syndicate, B.O.S.S., the player is pitted against Bossman's main rival, Takahiro Industries. Takahiro Industries has its own security, too, with an army of guards as well as various sophisticated robots. It is these that Damage has to fight against, going through various futuristic environments in order to assassinate Takahiro himself.

Good to hear that mate! Does everything work in this package? I just need to make sure that it isn't a barely working mess because Quake CD roms and TCs were added to the ModDB page fairly rescently and this package was out for months.

Malice itself is a commercial Total Conversion FOR Quake, it's not standalone, just like Shrak for example. It's already patched but I left the patch zip file itself in the download just in case

Honestly, the best way to go about it is to use a source port and make sure all of the music is placed in a music folder, along with a config for it.

Keep in mind though, some source ports have different file structures and paths for music.

QS, QSS, and Mark V only can use .mp3 files placed in the folder, where as ports like Darkplaces typically uses .ogg files placed in an entirely different folder.

I added a tracklist.cfg file for engines like Quakespasm. Mark V detects all music automatically if you place all the tracks in the "music" folder

Hey all.

Thanks for the patch. I've been trying to get this working for ages. I always get disheartened at the missing key in the second level. Thanks for fixing that.

The last bug I've found is the dudes from the box-art are missing from the waist up. This seems to happen in all the source ports I've tried it on (Dark Places, Direct Quake, QuakeSpasm, MarkV). I've also looked up videos of other people playing on Youtube and it seems I'm not the only one. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Makes me feel old looking at the original CD cover. I still have all the quake ISO's mods etc.. Looking for a fast dump to give them away. Thanks for this. I'll start tweaking it up with DP engine
