The sudden influx of media attention since the Eurogamer interview has opened up a lot of potential of misinterpretation. Especially for newcomers who were previously unaware of this mod. With this article I wish to clear up any said misinterpretation.

First of all to any newcomers, welcome! Hope you'll like what you see here. :)

Since the Eurogamer article, I've seen other news outlets base articles on it. Which is totally fine, but they can lack the nuances of information that Eurogamer has since their info came directly from me, and may unintentionally word things different to the way I said it. This can quickly turn into a game of Chinese Whispers. And before you know it, misinterpretation will turn into fact and end up unfavorable towards this mod and people's expectations off of it. So here it goes.

There is no sinking yet

As mentioned in the Eurogamer article. This mod will be released in parts. I estimate about four, but it is too early to tell exactly. Part One is due to release anytime soon. This one only includes a part of the planned interior (Marked blue on the progress chart), and the opening sequence of the storyline towards the docks and getting on board. Which brings me to the next point to emphasize.

There is no fully fleshed out storyline yet

Like mentioned above, the storyline only goes as far to the point of boarding the ship. After that the mod is more like a sandbox for now to just mess around in. The main reason being that there are areas missing that are involved with the story, and I simply wanted to get the mod out first since not everyone will care about the storyline.

There's no full interior included in the mod

Please see the progress chart in the mod's description. What's marked blue will be included in Part One. Any other colors will be included in later parts. Anything that's not colored is not planned and will not be included in any part. It is simply too time consuming to make everything and far too heavy for the game to run. Besides, many duplicate cabins and such will add very little to the overal gameplay experience. I'm already having a blast onboard with the few areas that are in now.

And just in case I wish to emphasize:

This mod is a hobby project

Why on earth would someone waste so much time on an old mod like this?! Well, because I don't mind to. Simple as that. Some people watch Netflix, others collect stamps, others play football, and some like to put a Titanic in a game they love. This mod has always been a hobby project. Sure, I wish I could've released this in Mafia's prime time. But I couldn't. So I just keep hobbying on it together with the people who have kindly helped me out with this over the years. Release dates are entirely dependent on our personal lives. And the latter always has priority.

I hope this will manage people's expectations a little bit. Simply sit back and enjoy the boat ride. :)

I have not much to say but that I'm happy that you got a interview on Eurogamer and that got more attention to your work, congrats and good luck.

Thanks! It's truly amazing to see how much attention there suddenly is to this project. Honestly, I would've never thought this would ever happen. A small dream came true regarding that.
