Erm...I don't think this ever existed (and it doesn't look that good)
Can't you just use stock weapons from the game? (pre-1912, of course)

Milpas.cc

Bevfitchett.com

One of the single LMG's that existed before 1912.
I tried searching around but there aren't much different weapons around that time.

Besides Mafia is 1930.

My bad, never seen that gun before!

Still, you can use most of the guns from the game: the S&W Model 10, the M1911, the Springfield, the sawn-off shotgun, the M1912 and the Mosin-Nagant were all created before 1912!

It's true that those types exist before 1912, and the Mosin Nagant and Springfield will remain as it is. But for the sake of variety it is also nice to feature a series of custom weapons as well.

I don't care this never really existed because it looks so damn cool and besides, a bit of steampunk here and there never does harm eh?

I remember the Maxim from Steampunk kind of movies before I found out it was a real weapon. :P

Although they were mostly used stationary, they could be caried. Well, stationary or not, at least it looks badass to have one. :)

I was a bit confused with this. I assumed Kjellman was only the designer and Maxim produced it due to the similarities between both types. But you are correct indeed. I cannot change the download back though, but I'll keep the namechange in mind for the final version within the mod. Thanks!

First, I want to compliment on your great work! I'm watching the development of your mod for quite some time now via moddb, and in my opinion, it's getting better and better. Besides the work on the ship, the addition of entirely new weapons that are even period-correct is superb. I just wanted to know why you chose this kind of texture for the magazine. In my opinion the texture of the magazine resembles too much the steel magazine of an AK. Especially if compared to the original photo you posted in one of your comments. Besides, it is a great model and thank you for updating my knowledge about guns, as I didn't know this gun before.

Thanks for the compliment and feedback!
Yes it's indeed a texture of an AK-47 magazine. It was the only thing that came to my mind to use as a texture on that moment. As I plan to make a few changes to the model I could fix the texture as well. Thanks again!

Description

My summer vacation has finally started! Let's do some work on the mod!

First update:
One of MTM's first custom weapons completed; the Maxim LMG, designed by Rudolf Kjellman. Despite it's size this is the only "portable" machine gun that existed before 1912.
