Will you be adding more planet types and actualy unique tactical structures to each race, having all 3 of them have Beam Cannon Platforms isnt very.....unique :P
"Beam Cannon Platforms isn't very.....unique" easy to change.
Planets ... maybe, again not a lot of work, but planets are large meshes and large textures - could clog the game.
:P Ok. I have a suggestion for what the Trader's platform should be >.>. Now Good Luck and make this mod an @$$ kicking mod for the sins community
Not sure I understand you? Can you clarify?
I mean I have an idea for what kind of Tactical Defence Platform (ex. Gauss Cannon Platform, Beam Cannon Platform ect)the Traders would have :P. I am pron to be hard to understand so bare with me please
Excellent, share your idea ...
Its pretty basic but the Traders should get like a Missile Barge Platform: A Platform that fires a swarm of Missiles at any ships within range (its like the Marza's Missile Barge but much weaker). But if you dont think this is such a good idea you can stick with your beam cannon platform, I wont mind at all ^^
Good idea. It's now on the list of things to do!
You will see it on the next release.
However, I am finishing of the Entrenchment release.
Then I will work on the Diplomacy release.
The mod works, but the races have no names and not only the names also the structures! Only: "String not found"
What should I do?
And sometimes the game chrashed...why?
The mod has been tested only on the US English version of Sins.
If you are using a language other than English rename the "English.str" file in the mods strings folder to whatever language you are using. Example: "German.str" if you are using the German language version.
please people tell me where to put the unrared files .... i am using win 7 but any help is appreciated
Installing the Maelstrom Mod is a simple two step process.
Step 1: Extract the contents of the compressed file to your 'Sins Mod Directory'
Question: Where is my 'Sins Mod Directory'?
Answer: Depends on your Operating System
Typically for Windows 7
C:\Users\'AAA'\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\'BBB'
Note 1: 'AAA' is your user name, e.g john smith
Note 2: 'BBB' your "mod type" followed by "mode version"
"mod type" can be 'mods', 'mods entrenchment', 'mods diplomacy'
e.g. replace 'BBB' with Mods-v1.191
Question: I'm still having problems finding correct 'Sins Mod Directory'
Amswer: Start SoaSE and in the options submenu select mod
Now that you are in the mod submenu select 'Show Mod Path'
Make a note of the location and copy your decompressed files
there.
Question: I'm still having problems finding the correct
'Sins Mod Directory'
Answer: Make sure that your Windows Explorer browser is able to see
hidden files & folders ...
The option in XP can be found under the menu 'Tools"
submenu "Folder Options" then in the tab "View", click
on 'show hidden files & folders' then click ok.
Step 2: Start SoaSE and in the options submenu select mod
Select the mod from the list of available mods and activate it.
If the Maelstrom Mod does not apear in the mods list then
you have copied to the wrong directory. Please try again.
sorry for not replying earlier, you asked for my pc specs and if i was running the mod, or the expansion.

How does Sins play without the Maelstrom Mod?
Will you continue to make updates for 1.191, or if more patches are released for the original? I love this mod and would love to see it grow even more and get even better.
Yes, this mod will be supported.
You said that you would like to see this mod "grow even more and get even better" ... share your idea's, what you like or don't like.
Honestly, the mod is sweet, however, for whatever reason the dreadnought version of the game has many errors for me. I tried reinstalling and the like with no go, however not dreadnought version works great.
Anyhow, errors ive seen is skins not showing up and just remaining an outline like when youve placed a building que down. Game crashes seemingly randomly, with some games going for 30 mins to an hour and others ctd within minutes. Sounds not playing properly, such things as battles and warp jumping will just not have any noise when you watch them. Certain A.I. missions remain ongoing even if you completed them. Again, this is all only with hte dreadnought version.
Hi LordAndross,
Thanks for the feedback.
These problems are new to me. Please note that the expansion is identical to the non-expansion except for the Dreadnoughts.
My first thoughts are ... your graphics card is being pushed over the limit. The reason I say this is that, you don't have problems with the non-expansion mod and these problems have not been seen on the PC platforms the mod's were developed and tested on. The mod has been stable for a number of months ... prior to release.
But to clarify, can you give me some info:
What operating system are you running?
What CPU?
What version of Sins have you got (v1.191)?
How much RAM is installed?
What is your graphics card?
What scenario's are you playing? i.e map size, number of players, races in game, etc
