can you please put some info on how to install because the original alone does not work.
and do i need the original with the expansion ? or only the expansion if i do need them together than mind explaining?
and you did not put any readme not that i saw anywhere.
btw the "original just frizzes when i load it.
SoaSE Maelstrom and SoaSE Maelstrom Expansion are two separate and complete mods.
To install is simple ...
1. Extract the contents of the zip file to your sins mod directory
2. Start SoaSE and in the options submenu select the mod from the list of available mods and activate it.
3. If Maelstrom does not apear in the mods list then you have copied to the wrong directory. Please try again.

Sorry to say this, but it appears you have a serious memory leak issue. I had just started a game with the mod when I noticed severe frame stuttering. I run a memory usage reporting program, so I popped it open and low and behold, the memory was scrolling up like the national debt within the first 60 seconds of play. Within 72 seconds, it had exceeded 1.4 gigs, and was still headed up. The specs on my computer are enough to allow multiple vanilla games to run at the same time, so that isn't the issue. Just thought you'd want to know there's a problem.

* 2.2 GHz Dual- or Quad-Core Processor
* 1 GB RAM (2 GB for Windows Vista)
* 256 MB DirectX 9 3D Video Card (Radeon X1600 / GeForce 7600 and above)
Sins is 32 Bit and typically maximisess only 1 core!

Maelstrom is an "EXTENSIVE" mod for Sins ... when I say extensive I mean it! It is basically twice the size of the original, 2xplayers, 2xmodels, 2xtextues, 2xsounds.
3. Sins also has some problems with its memory footprint and Memory leaks, see ...

Will you be adding more planet types and actualy unique tactical structures to each race, having all 3 of them have Beam Cannon Platforms isnt very.....unique :P
"Beam Cannon Platforms isn't very.....unique" easy to change.
Planets ... maybe, again not a lot of work, but planets are large meshes and large textures - could clog the game.

I mean I have an idea for what kind of Tactical Defence Platform (ex. Gauss Cannon Platform, Beam Cannon Platform ect)the Traders would have :P. I am pron to be hard to understand so bare with me please

Its pretty basic but the Traders should get like a Missile Barge Platform: A Platform that fires a swarm of Missiles at any ships within range (its like the Marza's Missile Barge but much weaker). But if you dont think this is such a good idea you can stick with your beam cannon platform, I wont mind at all ^^
