This may seem like a small thing, but I think it would seriously help with diversifying the races. Would it be possible to make the descriptions of researches, ships, and abilities a bit more unique? I just can't help but notice that the description for a few of the research descriptions and all the new titans seems either copied from the originals or its all the same across the board on the races added. It also was the only reason I couldn't play as the pirate faction back when it was a playable race to be honest. Other then that Great job on the mod and its one of my favorites

Hi Ascendant28,

Thanks for the feedback.

You are right, it was my intention to update the descriptions, but had slipped my mind.

The Pirate race was in fact the Norlamins, I used the Norlamins as a base but added the new Pirates models as a first step in their development. However, I will be releasing the expansion version of the mod in the next week which has the completed Pirate race (new abilities, research, icons, voiceovers, etc).

"Any chance of this being updated for the new Sins update?" ... 1.85 is the latest.
"Also, are the Dreadnaughts etc. coming back?" ... yes, in a week or so
Glad you like the mod!

Hey, thanks for the mod! Its pretty awesome! We try to play it as 4 via hamachi and the game constantly crashes (for different players). What can we do against that? The game just freezes for someone after 5-10min and the game shuts down :(

Initially, try turning down the graphics effect settings.
I am having an in depth look at the mod, to find any obvious problems, after a week nothing stands out, but I will continue.

To clarify.
The game crashes have started since the release of the latest patch, v 1.86, in original form, no mods. They are frequent and random.
If the mod for Maelstrom is activated the game crashes constantly, unplayable.

I would update graphics card drivers.
I would check to see if your Sins files have been corrupted (via steam)

I would like to say thank you for all your hard work on this amazing mod. My friends and I have enjoyed it for hundreds of hours over the years.

With this most recent version we are experiencing old problems such as host file differing with multiplayer autosaves and worse random "minidump" errors. However the old solutions do not correct the issue.

We have been successful with copying the hosts save file and pasting in every players directory. However this process has gotten tedious. Are there other .mesh files we can delete to remedy our autosave problem like in previous versions?

As for the more important issue random crashes. We have spent many hours of trial and error. Some times we can get a whole game or two in before we get a crash other times cannot get more than 30 minuets. Once a game has a crash, reloading a save and continuing will always lead to another crash.
I will list a few of the many things we have tried.

*Recommended setting of high on everything.
*Lowering everything except resolution to lowest possible.
*Validating game cache (every time indicates 1 file will be reacquired).
*Troubleshooted video drivers

As we understand it the 1.86 version of Sins improves on the ram issue. We have had some debate over the 4g patch you have included with your mod. Currently we are no longer using it. Does anyone have any thoughts on this subject?

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Glad you have enjoyed the mod.

Unfortunately, I am waiting the 1.87 patch to do anymore on the mod. I am currently busy and investing time to fix the 1.86 patch when the 1.87 is on the way ... well i just haven't got the time.

I have had some very nonsensical behave with the mod ... that is not RAM related ... it appears that there is a possible problem with the abilities of the new planets. Nonsensical in that for extended periods of time (months),playing for instance vast random maps, i would be able to play complete game/s. then the mod would start to crash, for extended periods of time. I could blame the fault with the 1.86 patch (the mechanics of which don't work well with large mods), but I am not completely convinced of that. I have checked the integrity of the Sins files and the mods files with no avail.

I will push the developers for a release date on the 1.87 patch when I will address these and other issues.

Personally I hate bugs in my software and for each release I do lots of large tests before release ... only in a few occasions have bugs slipped through. Hence I appreciate it when I get feedback of problems so that on each new release I can improve on the mod.

Cheers
