New Worlds of Maelstrom
The extremely thin atmosphere of this rocky world has prompted the evolution of unusual hardy planet life which can be harvested and used to extend life, a highly exportable commodity.
The high density core and surface of this planet forms a natural gravitational shield. Planet damage absorption from orbital bombardment is increased.
Chthonian Planet + Moon
A Chthonian planet a celestial object resulting from the stripping away of a gas giant's hydrogen and helium atmosphere and outer layers. The atmospheric stripping was likely a result of the proximity to a star. The remaining rocky/metallic core resembles a terrestrial planet in many respects.
Maybe an ancient empire mined away all the gas :D
or the gasses couldve refined the metals in the planet into super materials resulting in stronger hulls for all ships built in the planets gravity well?

Why does the moon of the chthonian planet look likes its under attack by the reapers? also cthulhu lives there.
