Yes, but make sure to provide your colonist and orbiting force extra shielding in the X-ray and Gamma spectrum - you don't want to overexpose them to harmful radiation.

It's a tough life out there so we need to be tougher. Therefore everyone get exposed to large amounts of lethal radiation weeding out people who are not able to stand large amounts of lethal radiation.
