Hi, I'm using this fashion version of the game, while playing multiplayer, where 4 people play, disconnect and pop out sync out. We downloaded version 1.9 because steam showed that we have the latest version of the game and still the game crashes, although the two can play without problems.

We all have the same version of the game 1.85 and Steam shows that it is the latest !. Please help please.

Sorry for English, I'm Polish.

Hi,
Can you clarify that you are all using the 1.90 patch of Rebellion, and also the R12 release of Maelstrom?

Not sure why this isn't working for me. Have installed and enabled etc, checksum shows correct. I see extra maps when starting a new game marked as (M) but they have missing images and "string not found" for the descriptions.. then I am also unable to select any of the new races. What have I done wrong?

If the checksum is correct ... then possibly Sins has been corrupted. "Verify the integrity of game files" via steam.

No dice on that. Tried reinstalling to no luck either. But obvious first thing I should've tried was obvious.. re-downloaded and extracted, no problems :')

Are the random maps modified? I usually just play random tiny/small/medium against AI, will these include all your new additions or should I play the maps specifically marked (M)?

Yes to run a full game on a vast map takes quite a bit of time.
My goal for the mod was to double the content of the original game. With the release of the 1.9 patch I am in a position to triple the original content.

Just a quick question...where are the texture files for the pirate ships located? I looked in the texture folder of your mod and only find the engines and pirate logos...am I just being blind?

There are 559 texture files for the pirates ... mostly ships and structures.

Holy cow...I am only looking for the ship textures...just wanted to edit a few things to my liking. Could you give me a clue as to what some of the ship texture names are to give me a starting point...and are these all in the "texture" folder of your mod? Amazing mod by the way!

All textures are located in the texture folder.
All textures are clearly labelled for each class of ships and all players. For example the pirate ship textures are ...

Capitalship_XXX_Pirate-YYY.dds
Corvette_XXX_Pirate-YYY.dds
Bomber_XXX_Pirate-YYY.dds
Fighter_XXX_Pirate-YYY.dds
Frigate_XXX_Pirates-YYY.dds
Titan_XXX_Pirate-YYY.dds

where XXX are multiple labels.
also YYY is a shorter list (compared to XXX) of labels i.e YYY = [cl, da, nm]

Pirates are TO over powered. You can win the game by just dumping credits into pirate to NOT attack you. Some super cool things in the mod, but do not even bother playing with pirate. Alot fo the custom factions have research that does not apply the bonuses eather =/

I do intend to release a update ... with new late game hi-tech research (for all races and all categories) and also with some re-balancing (especially the pirate race)

thanks dude, sins is a nice game and all but without the mods is just plain, which seems to be the problem of almost every game released nowadays.

I know what you mean ... it needs more variety ... 2-3 times the number of races and planets

Yes I noticed the problem also.
Over the last few days the Sins developers have released the 1.92 patch which has broken the main menu for all mods.
Later today I will be releasing R13 for Maelstrom which is 1.92 compatible.

Heyo! Is there any way to update the checksum or getting the mod to work with the new update? The mod folder still shows 1.85. Changing it to 1.93 only serves to create the 1.85 folder again. Additionally, activating the mod in its current state seems to CTD. Any help on how to address these issues would be much appreciated, thanks!

I am working on a update to patch 1.93

"The mod folder still shows 1.85. Changing it to 1.93 only serves to create the 1.85 folder again."
Talk with the Sins Developers.

"Additionally, activating the mod in its current state seems to CTD."
I have played a number of games (R13) with the 1.93 patch activated. Typically the first single player game activation crashes ... proceeding activation's are fine.
