The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.
Model and texture completed
Well what should I say? Awesome work as always
You do realize most of the other overly awesome textures are from texture god millenia dont you? Or are you talking about all of mtindle's work (wich is also awesome but mil is unbeatable..)?
I feel like it's a little ... bland. It's good, but the texture work looks a bit bland. Try comparing your textures with those of mill, he has really believable metal with dirt covering it up and stuff;

Just some general advice. Also, try to differentiate certain parts of the weapon through the spec map, because it all looks like 1 material now. (mag has the exact same 'wear' like the main gun etc.)

For example, look at the different gloss-levels here; Farm4.static.flickr.com
Try and adjust it a bit, because there's room for a lot of improvement. Why not ask mill himself for some advice as well? :)
Cheers!
The model itself looks great though, with the weldmarks and such! Keep it up :)
Thanks for the input, I'll take your points into consideration and maybe fiddle with the maps more.
No problem man :) Just trying to help out a bit. I wrote a tutorial on textures in stalker which you can find here;
Moddb.com
It contains quite some info I've gathered through the years of texturing it
I have to agree with loner, it looks like it needs a few more details added. It has an odd unrealistic look to it. Its an amazing model though, keep it up.
perhaps add some wear on the part of the pistol grip that faces the user? aka the back of it :P
I agree, it's not exactly Millenia good, but its alright.
Finally, one of the least appreciated assault rifles gets some attention.
I like the FNC and AK5. I wish they showed up in more video games. They combine the low-recoil, high-accuracy ammo of the average NATO weapon with the more rugged working parts and better recoil compensation of Warsaw Pact weapons. In video games, at least. I'm not entirely sure if it's like that in real life, though I would like to think so.
I agree with both Woozle and LoNer1 - though there are some texture-based points which could need an improvement (it looks a bit like plastic, but idk how to improve that, so I'll better keep my mouth shut), but apart from all that it is an awesome model and it is really good that you give some attention to this spitter :D
not bad
Looks good, Loner's texture inputs should help a lot, too. I kind of wish this was an AK5 like in 1.1, but I suppose AK5s wouldn't be nearly as common as FNCs (the former being a Swedish rifle for Swedish forces, the other Belgian for export).
looks awesome..
Looking really nice. One thing that really, really bothers me is that this basically looks like B/W. In fact, it looks like a B/W filter was put over it. Always have blue as your base as it's usually what the environment is (the sky) and experiment. Parts such as the muzzle might have some heat distortion. But yeah. More colour please.
I agree. And judging from the shots on your profile you know what you're talking about yeah.
Yeah I know what you're saying, I need to add a little more colour.
I already had some colour in there but in Max with 3point shader, the spec can end up washing out the model a bit, because it's additive specular (just white) and doesn't take any colour from the diffuse. Sometimes your stuff can end up looking washed out colour wise.
Same model and texture as in the pic up there, but rendered in Marmoset toolbag - Mtindle.millenia3d.net
You may or may not agree it looks better.
I agree. It does look a lot better yeah, much clearer shot as well. Just add a 'little' (subtle) bit of color and you're good!
Will this replace the AK5 you had in 1.1?

Someone tell me please: Is this mod in working process?
What is the conjectural release date? I want to use this mod's awesome weapons pack, but as i understand it's unavailable until mod releases.
sorry fo my bad English...
This looks great.
