Twilit Future set in an alternate distant future in which Link vanished after pulling the Master Sword from the Temple of Time, allowing Ganondorf to continue his rule of Hyrule indefinitely. Eventually, a new city was created in a land beyond his influence, established by the remnants of the Hyrule royal family. It was built inside a kind of horse-shoe shaped range of mountains, making it very well-fortified. Eventually, both sides developed megabombs (equivalent to nuclear weapons), and ultimately ended up blowing each other to kingdom come. Having foreseen the possibility, a company run by the royal family, called Hy-Tech, developed vaults to keep a number of people safe-but also to run certain experiments, some social, and others technological. You are from the Kokiri Vault, where no one physically ages past ten years. Of course this is about to change... Twilit future is set in a unique sort of hybrid universe of Legend of Zelda and the Fallout series.

Hyrule Field Wallpaper

News

In the image gallery you'll find wallpaper image in two sizes-standard and widescreen, showing off content to be included in the Hyrule Field preview mod for Fallout 3. You can either actually use it as your Desktop Wallpaper (be sure to use the view original button-and don't worry, it IS high resolution it's just scaled to fit your screen by MoDB), or just look at it since it shows off the Kokiri Vault Suit and several other things you'll find in the mod.

Each wallpaper was specifically set up for its respective resolution and is neither stretched nor squeezed to conform to its size. As such, there are some differences in the composition of either image so certain details in one you might not find in the other.

Also, as I mention in the image description, and in a small note at the bottom of the wallpaper, the sky and ambient lighting are simulated (as in it was added after I did the screen capture from the G.E.C.K.), this is an artistic enhancement to the wallpaper image and also will hopefully demonstrate what I'm hoping to have the twilight sky look like in the TC, and possibly a mod that will add "Hylian skies" to Fallout 3 itself.

I had an idea for a Zelda set in the distance future quite a while ago when I was in junior high school. I'm going to be keeping my eye on this mod. I'd love to see it come to light.

Since maybe a couple weeks after Fallout 3's release, when tools were made available to access the BSA archives and the NIFSkope program was updated to be able to view and edit the newer mesh format. At that point though I think most of the development was plot-oriented until the G.E.C.K. was announced-I can't recall whether I started working on the retextured vault suits before or after the actual release, though. The actual idea of doing a FO3 mod with a Zelda theme had been floating in my head since about the time FO3 was announced to begin with.

Three and a half months I suppose would be a fair estimate.

Also, FYI I've added new desktop wallpaper showing off the new Kokiri Vault Suit design. Originally, the symbol was going to be a tree, but when I realized there was an actual Kokiri symbol (the one you see on the Deku Shields and on some of the doors in the Forest Temple in Twilight Princess, I decided it should be changed.
