Description

This is experimental version with texture lights script which adds more lights making PBR materials reflecting, but it's quite resource hungry, so releasing separately. It works both in Vulkan and OpenGL (in 1.2 ver of pack default setting is now Vulkan). On tnt.wad there are slutters on the few huge maps with too many textures with lighting sources, so I recommend deleting 29_texture_lights.wad from doom_remake_4.pk3 (use 7Zip) when playing it (you will lose some fancy lighting effects though).

It's definitely a nice mod, with lot's of effort inside. So big thx for that.
On the other hand a pbr texture-only version would be a nice touch though - just for the use with different mods.

Is it anywere a repository of source files? I guess they made 3d models of enemies, I'd really like to find them to use elsewere (3d print and paint).

Not bad, textures look great. Models could use some more work though. Enemies look stiff on the movement, and the weapon animations are also stiff plus the sounds are not syncing very well with those stiff movements. It's got potential though, keep up the good work!

I don't know if my problem is with the mod or my dad's laptop (ACER Predator Helios 300) but I get horrific screen tearing with both driver level and game level sync enabled. I don't get this with any other games. I am also passing my display to my own monitor via HDMI, as vsync never works on the laptops own screen.

When I get discharged from the hospital I will try it out on my own rig at home to see if the screen tearing persists.

Edit: the problem is with GZDoom. On this laptop, there is screen tearing to the max no matter what vsync options are enabled.

hi! is it possible to edit the main .pk3 to remove the 3d models of weapons and /or items? which files could it delete from it? I've tried it, but then I had a gzdoom error. thanks! :)

If you don't want 3D models open 15_3D_models_weapons.wad remove decorate_sway.txt and LOADACS

Download Smooth Doom: Drive.google.com

Rename SmoothDoom.pk3 into 18_SmoothDoom.wad and copy into doom_remake_4.pk3

I have a question similar to lgmoddb, is possible to use sprites only for monsters and weapons? I would like to keep barrels, lamp, pickups and so on in 3D. thanks!

Are we talking the Doom that came out in 2016 from Bethesda?
Or the Ultimate Doom thats on Steam now (repackaged Doom from 1995)?
The only BFG edition I could find was for Doom 3...

This is a really cool mod and you guys have done some fantastic work. This is just a matter of personal taste to me but I really dislike using 3D models in place of the typical sprites. Is there a way to turn those off and just enjoy the rest of the textures in the environment.

vasyan777 I see serious performance improvement in 1.13 comparing to 1.11
By the way, is there any particular reason why "Sector Light Mode" is not set to Software by default? Google it, it's not software, but confusing name for very complex shaders, which make Doom looking even more great.

I just installed the newest version, and for some reason The Ultimate Doom no longer uses the enhancements, hi-res textures, models, etc. It;'s almost like vanilla. The other Doom games work as normal though.

vasyan777 Also I would say it's not very good idea to enable some controversial settings by default, default settings have to be "best for everyone" as much as possible. I'm talking about Vulkan (which is still highly experimental for GZDoom) and about "enabled filmic tonemap", which is definitively not for everyone.

Vulkan seems has better performance and it works fine with this mod. I didn't have any crashes. Filmic tonemap doesn't change much, just makes colours less vivid, less yellowish Media.moddb.com

May be on low end PC Vulkan has a better performance. On anything better than GTX 1070 - no performance improvements over standard OpenGL, but some minor glitches here and there. I think you can add readme with recommended settings for different situations, so it will be easier for users to adjust to their particular situation, but default settings should be quite conservative.

Hey there! Absolutely love this mod, played through 1 and 2 several times, even througu Brutal Dooms Extermination Day with it.

I've seen in the thread how to remove the 3D models for guns, and if that's done, could you theoretically add in Bolognese, or Brutal Doom on top to have those guns and blood effects WITH the monster models? I've played around with it and haven't gotten it to work.

Either way, I can never recommend this enough. Absolutely fantastic work!
