Have you ever dreamed about seeing DOOM in HD or with modern feel? Well today you are lucky, Doom Remake 4 is basically a compilation of mods that make it look more polished and aesthetic. It brings you: High Resolution Textures with PBR materials, 3D models of every object and enemy, New HUD, Brutal mods with plenty of blood and gibs.
This is an overhaul pack for Doom 1, 2 that is based on GZDoom source port. It brings 3D models, Hi-Res textures with PBR materials, many cosmetic mods and a few gameplay mods.
How to install:
1) Extract the archive into something like C:\Games\Doom Remake 4
2) Copy your Doom IWADs (doom.wad, doom2.wad, tnt.wad, plutonia.wad) from your Doom directory into the folder you extracted Doom Remake 4.
3) Launch game with the following .bat files:
Launch Doom (The Ultimate Doom).bat
Launch Doom II Hell on Earth.bat
Launch Final Doom The Plutonia Experiment.bat
Launch Final Doom TNT Evilution.bat
If you don't have a purchased copy of Doom/Doom 2/Final Doom you can play with Freedoom Project levels (it is included in zip).
The default config has all graphics set to highest, so if you experiencing lags/low frames per second then disable Ambient Occulsion in Options -> Display options -> OpenGL Renderer, set Ambient Occulsion Quality to "Off". Also you can disable shadows in Options -> Display options -> Dynamic lights, set Light Shadowmaps to "Off". And you can reduce resolution scale in Options -> Set video mode -> Scale factor.
Other mods/levels support:
This modpack supports most of the custom levels except those that bring any custom monsters/weapons. If you want to play custom levels launch gzdoom.exe with this parameter:
"gzdoom.exe -file yourcustomwad.wad doom_remake_4.pk3"

Also it seems works with Doom Slayer Chronicles, however I didn't fully tested it yet.
What is included:
-GZDoom version v3.5.1 64-bit - 3D-accelerated Doom source port.
-Hires textures and skyboxes
-3D models of weapons, enemies, decorations, items etc.
-Hi-res logos and menu parts
-Graphic effects (explosions, sparks, smokes etc.) from Brutal Doom and few other mods.
-Wider lighting. All torches and other lighting sources are now brighter
-Music from Playstation Doom
-Custom sounds for the weapons, and monsters sounds from Doom 3.
-New water and liquids with reflections
-Torch (press F (or Y for alternative) to turn on)
-Less slippery Quake-like movement
-Dismemberment of corpses. Once you shoot into corpse, it will split into 3D gibs and guts.
-More blood. When you shoot the enemy, the blood is smeared on the walls and flows from the ceiling
-Different gunplay mechanics with fast switching.
-PBR materials (not complete)

ver 2.6: Added effects such as smokes, explosions, sparks, puffs, blood from Brutal Doom. Added DoomVisor HUD.
ver 2.5: Replaced chaingun with minigun + some other changes to weapons.
ver 2.4: Removed all bat to exe converted launchers as some antiviruses were falsely crying over them, so now launch the game with bat files. Fixed 3D models for player, so if you spawn bots they're in 3D models.
ver 2.3: New sounds, new weapon mechanics, Reshade, texture fixes, PBR materials, fixed movement/weapon bobbing, added camera shaking when blasting rockets.
ver 2.1: Fixed animated textures. Changed the colour of waterfall textures, so it is the same as the water textures now. Packed in zip instead of rar.
