It has long been a fan wish to be able to roam the island freely. That has always been the main goal of this mod : to allow the fans to go back to the island, the WHOLE island, and be able to explore it all. My online name is yung23, and I have been mapping the LOST island on and off since 2004. Using the Sandbox2 engine I have nearly completed the LOST island in ONE level. Due to the size restrictions of the program, the island is roughly 8km x 8km but I wish it could be twice that size to do the LOST island justice. I am currently modelling and texturing most of the LOST locales, using screencaps as reference. This mod has been in production on and off for years and is thee first LOST mod in existence. My plan has always been to model all of the locations seen in the show and present them in their most likely locales on the island.
still not happy. I want ruins like detailing.. weathering etc
does anyone know how to use two different diffuse maps on one ojbect using an opacity mask in cryengine2 ?
What a fantastic idea for a level design! Will there be any operable features on the island like:
· the submarine
· the time portal viewer
· the underwater base
· some of the underground research bases
· the invisible monster churning through the jungle
This could actually be the cool basis for a a simple (but very cool) coop exploration and survival game, not unlike DayZ -- but instead but instead of threat of Zombies you could be come "LOST!", loose track of your friends, get displaced in time, trapped, captured or buried...
But even as an a single player explorable map is very ambitions project and one I hope you take your time with and enjoy as much as I know many will on discovering it and following your progress!
Sound Designer available if you need any contrabutions!
if you check out the rest of this mod blog you'll see samples of the underwater station, smokey as Ai capable of tracking down and killing players.. exploding trees.. whispers.. the barracks, the pylon fences.. the lighthouse.. (yes, maybe even windows with reflected images), the Fourtoes statue, including the base and interior where jacob dwelled...but no submarine as of yet.. I don't know if I'll bother with that, but I'd love to have the dharma van so it can be used in the kualoa valley level..
