Lost Dragons is a multiplayer total modification aiming to bring out a new thrilling gamemode for Arma3 . Our concept is futuristic objective based team warfare with randomly generated map elements to ensure every game is a unique experience with completely new set of units, weapons, structures and terrain.
After a few hours of frustration with the hand animation I finally figured out that it was not my process, but a extra "/" in the path to the animation in the config file.
To celebrate I made a sneakpeek video of the HCR-A2 combat rifle in game!
The rifles config is just thrown together and will go through honing and balancing eventually when we get to proper testing stages, but I hope you enjoy the sneakpeek!
cant wait till the mod is completed :p or atleast comes into a playable alpha/beta stage. :D from that sneakpeak the gun seems kinda op lol. it seems like you made it firing 40mm grenades or atleast feel it similar to a grenade launcher?
atleast that would explain why you couldnt shoot the guy at 1:18. the grenade launchers in arma 2 and 3 had the same problem they wouldnt detonadeif the target was too close. or would detonate later on.
It shoots something similar to 40mm grenades as it is suppose to fire 25mm mini rockets. :D There is currently a 10 meter fuse delay so that the shooter does not blow himself up that easily. Explosion power is not as much as with 40mm grenade, and will go through adjustment after we get into testing.
While the gun seems over powered there are couple of things to consider. The units it is designed for use much heavier armor and use the gun against much more sturdier targets than normal Arma man.
The balance in our gamemode is planned to come through limited ammo supply and the fact that you won't have access to the more powerful weapons if you don't find them first and that won't be made too easy. While great gun may win you one battle, will you have enough ammo for another one? Especially if you use a super loud gun like this?
Its not like a couple of shots from a normal rifle won't kill a man right, this gun takes the concept just a wee bit further. :D
Also if we can make it work, explosives may know you down even if your armor protects you. This is just and idea though and we need to experiment with it to see if it fits the game.
this is looking great,are you planning to add multiple ammo types? like solid armor piercing rounds without explosives?
Yes, at least some type of kinetic penetrator will be added. Maybe a buckshot type if theres need for one and more if we come up with something cool.
