Have you ever dreamt about playing the old, forgotten S.T.A.L.K.E.R. ?
We were amazed by GSC's work when they released the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. screenshots in 2002. The old design, and atmosphere was stunning and we couldn't believe our eyes. Later in 2005 things has changed. They redesigned almost all old levels. Some of them became smaller, simpler (still nice, but different), and some levels were removed. After the release in 2007 we played the game a lot, and quickly noticed that some areas are missing. We opened forums, and talked countless nights about those for almost a year. Nowdays we could say, we have a full vision about GSC's old levels, due to the collected materials, videos and forgotten screenshots. We decided to remake those stunning areas, maybe they won't be the same, but we will try everything to make them look really nice, as we always wanted to see them. In early 2009, GSC released a build from 2004, which contained many old materials. We used some of the sdk objects for the level remakes, but adjusted (and bugfixed) them for our liking, also we didn't throw out our own levels. So expect to see our own Darkscape, Dead City, Rostok Factory and some more in Lost Alpha :)
Also need to say, Lost Alpha addon is not just about levels and levels. We will try to make a somewhat, but not fully restricted alife, and deliver a lot of new, never seen features, among with some old ones, which many people wanted to see for long. If you are interested in, check the Features menu for FAQ, Interview, Features List, and many more. Also do not forget to check the gallery, and the movies. All comments are welcome, also we are glad to see suggestions too, however at this stage those won't be considered.

With this release I am officially retiring from STALKER modding including LA. It has been a fun 14 years or so! As mentioned in my previous article, I will still continue to monitor this page and answer any questions though.

Hey it's my first time in this and i'm gettin a error in the .exe (0xc000007b)

That error is not really helpful... and what "fixes" did you try?
First thing, are you playing DC/LAR or DCE? If DCE, I cannot help. If using DC/LAR are you using the newest launcher included in LAR?
i tried changing some windows configurations, installing the visuals and directx, reinstalling and downloading the launcher you mention but nothing
Btw i downloaded the DC 1.4007
This is not a LA related issue ...
You have to install Visual C ++ and update your DirectX Runtime , reboot and you should be good to go .
So i installed the Visual and updated directx and nothing :/ when i choose start new game the error keeps

And just a headsup: this is a standalone mod , you don't need the original game for this

And like i said i already installed visuals, updated directx and when i open the configurator and select launch game i get the error 0xc00007b but when i select start new game i can choose the language and the difficulty, after that i get the same error
And Microsoft's .Net software ?
I still think you are not using the updated launcher, or something else is not installed correctly... In any case, please see the instructions on how to bypass the launcher in my patch notes. If there is an error on startup that way, you installed incorrectly.
Is there a way to edit the carry weight? I attempted the old way and it didn't work so I changed it back. I know allowing the character to carry more weight messes with the experience and realism of the game but my character's sprint speed is as if he is walking, the walking is the speed of the crawl speed and there is A LOT of sway.
You can disable headbob in the options.
Skill points into endurance will help to increase run speed slightly along with carry weight. There are so many options to alleviate encumbrance, through weapon/armor mods and artifacts.
Then you can equip artifacts that have stamina modifiers as well, for slight run speed and stamina regen.

That is really nuts!
Every time I exit the game, the program freezes and I have to restart my computer to get out of it. Any idea what's causing this?
Also, does Lost Alpha Revisited have English voice acting by any chance? I didn't install the Russian voice mod that was included but I still get the Russian language
A very, VERY late answer to the freezing when quitting question, but I had the same issue on my laptop, only I did indeed install the game on C drive.
Surprisingly, what worked for me was to just Alt+F4 the game to close it instead of using the main menu button, and it worked flawlessly every time, with no freezing. It might be related to the OS one is using, since I'm running Win 11, but I have no way of confirming this.
This was a thing in the past and occured when L.A was installed on your boot-drive ( usually C: ) ,
So if it is on your boot-drive i would suggest installing it on any other drive you have in your system .
I never installed it on my C drive. That hard drive is used only for the operating system. I have a separate D drive for all the programs and data

Yes I'm using the newest launcher. Also, Pastebin doesn't seem to want to work lately
Try Morbid's suggestion as well regarding the launcher crash. Also, pastebin is working for me now, check it out.
Yes I saw pastebin is working. Should I set the launcher to close when I launched the game? Do you think that would help? Because I didn't install lost Alpha to my C drive. That drive is used only for the operating system
Besides ensuring you are using the latest launcher I included and trying Morbid's suggestion, I am not sure how else to help unfortunately. If it bothers you, you can bypass the launcher, instructions to do so are in the link as well.
