STALKER Lost Alpha: Revisited is released!
Go get it here: Moddb.com
Thanks to Stachelhaut for his updated Veles face texture, it looks amazing!
Thanks to Stachelhaut and zlostnypopolnik for testing and feedback of the Duty quest fork
With this release I am officially retiring from STALKER modding including LA. It has been a fun 14 years or so! As mentioned in my previous article, I will still continue to monitor this page and answer any questions though.
Good hunting stalkers!

With the announcement of STALKER 2 I see more traffic here, so I wanted to give a quick guideline on the different LA DC versions.
There is a new version of LA out (DC Extended). Check out the details below for more information.
This news post is to be used more as a resource for LA updates from the RU team/modders.
STALKER LOST ALPHA: REVISTED (LAR), is formally known as "LB's Comp." LAR combines ALL of my previous mimimod/comp updates along with the revised Duty...

Hello, I've been playing LA DC 1.4007 for quite some time now. The game is interesting and very close in quality and visuals to the original trilogy, which is why I like it. It's understandable since, as far as I remember, Dezowave initially planned to release LA as an add-on, but GSC didn't give their approval. But that's not the point now. There are some bugs and shortcomings in the game that personally bother me. There aren't many of them, but they exist. I've already fixed most of them, and some were fixed with the help of others. Thank you for that, Liquid Bronze. Besides all this, there has been one problem that I still haven't solved because I don't know how to do it. Maybe there are people here who know how to solve this problem. The problem is that when the main character goes to sleep, random dreams are played out. These dreams are presented in the form of low-quality videos, such as bloodsucker attacks, flying crows, or even a blowout at the Chernobyl NPP. These videos are poorly made and stand out dramatically against the rest of the game. I would like to know how to prevent these videos from playing so that the main character falls asleep with a black screen and snoring, without playing these videos?
Hi Fetzip and FYI for Morbid... Just so on the same page, the few general "dream" sequences when you sleep are part of all versions of LA (not to be confused with some of the illuminati scenes that used to be mixed in). I am actually not sure there is a way to "fully" remove the sleep dreams. I have tried numerous suggestions and still have one or two that pop up, even though I made their % chance in the LTX's 0... So I guess they are script controlled. I could be wrong, or just missing something though.
I checked the couple dream scripts out as well and I do not see how to go about changing it there. So all in all, as morbid says may have to "bite the bullet," until someone else can do some more testing, etc.
Hi, if you're interested, today I decided to dig into the configs again, and it seems I managed to disable those dreams. The problem was that there are two files named "dream.ltx" in the game files. The first one is located at "gamedata/config/misc/dream", and that's the one I've been modifying all this time. However, as I understood, it's not actually used in the game. The second file, which I found today, is located at "gamedata/config/lost_alpha/dream", and the contents of this file seem more comprehensive. I also set the chance of these dreams appearing to 0, and this time it worked.
Hi Fetzip,
Do you mean "gamedata\config\lost_alpha\sleeping" folder? As there is no dream folder. In the sleeping folder, there is a dream.ltx though. If so, that is the one I have edited with the probabilities all set to 0, but I still see the NPP dream.
Just now I logged into the game and went to bed 15 times, and there were no dreams.
Yes, that's correct: "gamedata\config\lost_alpha\sleeping". It's strange, I've restarted like 7 or 8 times and gone to sleep, but the dreams didn't appear. Did you change the "regular_probability" parameter at the very beginning? I left it at the default value of 50. Also, check if you have values set to 0 in the "Level specific" section.
Just a FYI, if you did not realize, the dreams are set to appear after certain conditions are met. For instance, there are 2 dreams that will start to appear after you rescue fox.
The helicopter and red sky dream. Check out the lines under the below 2 headers in the "dream.ltx."
[regular_dream2]
[regular_dream5]
So, dreams only start to appear after you rescue fox. Testing it before that will always show the black screen... Just the plain NPP dream does not have a condition (cond) set though in this file. I have a feeling that is why the NPP dream may still appear and could be tied to a script.
You will also only be able to test anything changed in this file after a new game unfortunately. Because if you already passed the met condition, it is baked in the save.
I tested this after rescuing the fox. I had four dreams: the first one about the Chernobyl explosion, the second one with crows, the third one with a bloodsucker, and the fourth one about the early build gameplay of the game.
I know how these dreams work, but I have already saved the fox and moved further in the plot and the dreams do not appear.
OK, understood. I will be starting a new game then to try as well.
I understand you, we somehow already talked about this topic last year, and I said that I set the chance of appearing at 0% in “dream.ltx” and had to test it, but after my test, unfortunately this It didn’t work and the dreams still appear. I hope that someone will get around to fixing this version.
Hi , and thanks for the kind words .
Yes , as most of all mods ( and yes even AAA-games ) there will always be some bugs and fixes that appear by playing them .
As to your "problem"....it is part of what some lovingly have named "The illuminati " ...
Why it was implemented is a mystery , but in LAR ( Lost Alpha Revisited ) that whole story-sequence has been removed .
There is no option to stop them from playing in 1.4007 , i'm sorry to say you will have to bite the bullet ..keep playing and deal with the "illuminati" or start LAR .
Thank you for the clarification

Translated from Russian:
1) Install clean LA DC 1.4007
2) Delete the mods folder
3) Download the mod from disk, place it in the game folder
4) For AMD video cards, take the fix from the AMD_Radeon_fix folder
5) Additional mods in the mods_optional folder
6) Launch either from the launcher or start_release.bat
To work, you need the latest version of mods that are on the disk: PRM weapon pack, shaderfixes, CGIM2/extended weather

For enthusiasts, I will post new releases of bins with corrections in the comments and also on the links below, the links will always be the same.

The idea is nice but 90% of LA's maps, despite being larger than most, are just not designed with vehicles in mind.
While they are not fully designed for vehicles, one can navigate the terrain in most of the maps. I have numerous paths I take on all the maps and leave cars in a few strategic positions across the entire world for any "blocks."
I didn't realize it had all those other mod requirements... Probably will take a little time to reverse engineer it to work with vanilla DC and LAR then.
Awesome !! ...Downside is the required CRASH-sensitive PRM weaponpack to be installed ...
