Im not hating or anything, but when I look at your screens and videos, I cant shake the feeling im looking at a moded build 1935. are you just modding b1935, or are you just extremly good?

we are not extremely good, and this is not a modded 1935, this game is based on final "modded/tweaked/hacked" engine, and all the things you saw were scripted from zero, and many maps were remade from scratch. especially this screeen, this level was not in any build. :)

OMG thank you for making this mod! By far this will be my favorite trip back to the zone.Will this mod set its self up.So tired of tring to make mods work lol.Thanks again and cant wait to play this.Oh no i think i peed myself lol :P

I'd like you will create more those forest and field maps! I mean it will fill the space between main levels. Like you come out from Cordon and then you will not appear at the Garbage - you will spawn at this forest level and then has to go some miles (through anomalies, radiation, military patrols, monsters etc) to Garbage location. I thing it will be more great.

And 1 more question - what size of level territory support xRay engine? Just so curios about no cut map. Like only 1 map with no loads.

if you have nasa like pc/pc-s, then you can compile any size of geometry (because i suppose you know you can use sectors-portals and hom for optimisation, and if you add enough hills where you can hide a hom object, and sectors in houses then you wont exceed the 1.5million poli limit on screen).... however the xrai wont work. i remember having crashes on stancia, which is 2x3km map, and has 70-80mbyte aimap, and we could only compile graph for it on a machine which had 8gb ram, core i7 and win7 64bit. so i guess you can imagine a bigger level... and how much pc resources it would need, plus no need to forget, that xrai is 32bit app, win7 forces it to use more ram, and has better memory and resources sharing or allocations, but still its a 32 bit app, which means you wont be able to make single player game on real huge areas, because soc xrai wont be able to make it...

Yeah I just meant code modification which will allow to load level's sectors automatically as in GTA series, Boiling Point etc huge map games (Far Cry) But I am sure it is impossible =) Sorry just were curios about map sizes.

sectors-portals are only for house interiors, or underground areas. the one you meant is streaming, but thats not supported by xray yet. probably in stalker2.

Ok, so what about LOD? If playet will stay far from marked object and it should have worse LOD model with less poligons, worse geometry and quality. SO what about this idea? I mean to try to increase LOD like after 100 miles of player's situation. And what about to add smog? It will also close some player's view. Or that's not all easy? =)
I am just asking because I am in Call of Juarez modding group and I use Occluders (portals (enen on open areas (hills))), LOD (for objects and terrain etc) and then game works fine (even on huge areas)

portals only work (in xray at least) if you have some interior and exterior object, and you put the interior to a different sector, then the exterior to an other one, and sdk computes portals between the 2 sectors (on doorways, windows, and holes). this sector cuts must be very punctual, because even if a single pixel is in wrong position, xray engine can not compute portals to those areas. this means you wont be able to make a good map with sectors until you fix all your objects :)

im not sure how this works in Call o Juarez, cause i never edited any other game, but its totally different engine, so its useless to compare :)

edit: not long ago some mates released some old gsc dev sdk videos, you can find them on youtube, and you will see how sectors-portals work in action :)

Also dezodor I'd like to help you to compile your maps because I have not bad PC. The problem is if I will have to compile with xray sdk then I can't launch it on my Windows vista that's why I wanted but I couldn't create some levels for STALKER.... (that's was funny when I spent 1 day to download all compilers, plugins, patches etc and xray sdk didn't support win vista)

thanks for the offer, but we dont need any compiler pc-s now. we have already set up our compiler pc-s years ago, and they work fine. not to mention it would need complete sdk transfer, which wont happen :)

... Generator objects was on Stancia 2 Location too in original SoC...
Will be "generator objects" open? Maybe you can spawn there something interesting? Artefacts or "mistics object"? Maybe artefact "Flash" or "Moonlight" like a bonus?
