Lost Alpha is a new episode of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series made by dezowave group for free!
This week was full of progress in LA DC! We are glad we were able to track down several bugs we had for so long!
The changes list was updated with the following fixes/updates:
- fixed the unresponsive AI
- fixed the not properly working 'hit sounds', 'death sounds' (and other sounds) so AI reacts even better
- fixed the random crashes when using some of the 3rd party graphic overlays, like fps counters or Steam in-game panel
- finetuned grass shadows
- finetuned grass shading without using grass shadows
- re-enabled artefact hunter scheme (wandering and camper npcs search for artefacts)
- re-enabled looting scheme (wandering and sometimes camper npcs loot dead bodies)
- re-enabled humming, whistling for random npcs to achieve even nicer atmosphere
- fixed shooting effector (which caused ctd with no log during shooting since April 2015)
- fixed water which was visible through the fog
- fixed stripes with rain on DX10/11
- fixed treasure manager (which gives stash info to player)
Complete list of changes are still available on the old link:

Wow.. with so many other recent S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-related releases, the anticipation for LADC is building up quite a bit, even if it is still a ways away! :D
Keep up the magnanimazing work guys!
Here I was thinking LADC HAS COME! :'(
Until I saw "new media added:".
Highly anticipating this release. Good luck guys.
Are there any renderer optimizations? Sunrays even on GTX 980 @ 1.4Ghz drops to under 50fps during morning and evening, d9-d10 modes both.
It's CPU that is bottleneck. More accurately, it's game engine that can't handle that much of the stuff. I compared i5 with GTX680 and FX-8350 with GTX980 on similar settings - exact same FPS at an exact same scene.

Shadows looks niceee )
Guys it's all great, but skies still too bright! Why do you preffer overbrightened skyes?
everyone is different, as I made these screens on my own LA, and I like this kind of sky more than the one you might prefer, it looks as is. You have the freedom to change it via console or user.ltx as the settings responsible for tonemapping were lowered since the 2nd patch.
r2_tonemap_lowlum 0.4 on this screen, but you can change it to 0.5 or 0.6 to have less of a cryengine style skybox.
Yeah I know I can tweak it and I did a lot of that.)
Nice work with the fixes any chance to relase it until new year?
Excitement levels... Rising!
I'm really glad to hear the looting and wandering scheme has returned. It was one of my highest sort after features in all Stalker games.
Has the Illuminati been taken out of the story along with all those disgustingly horrible cutscenes?
*waiting anxiety intensifies*
Volumetric sun rays working in this build?
